People loved my video on the O'Cedar Spin Mop almost as much as the mop itself. Will lightning strike twice? In this video, I will unbox and try out the new two chamber spin mop which give you a consistently clean water reservoir. I for one have high hopes for this mop and bucket...

I LOVE mine! The trick to keeping the fresh water extra-clean is to allow only a mop-full of water into the reservoir each time, then close it. If I was mopping something gross, I would use an extra bucket of water to rinse in. But I don't have pets and take my shoes off at the door, so my floors are never all that dirty. I also use this mop to wash baseboards and walls. I love its small size, to really get into corners and tight spaces.

Took your advice, and spent the extra 15 bucks or so to get the clean water chamber version like you have instead of just the regular spin mop bucket. My daughter wanted a spin mop for Christmas actually.. my 23 year old daughter. 🤣Love it. Cant WAIT to give it to her the day after tomorrow. Shes has never seen this version, so I think shell be even more excited....about her mop....🤣🤣Thats literally adorable. But just wanted to pop in the comments real quick to say thanks so much for your review! They really do make a difference and help people. My daughter has you to thank for getting not just a mop but mop 2.0 . LOL VERY SWANKY! INDEED 👌🏻😁 You rock! Thanks again! P.S. Tell the people picking on your feet to stop being a-holes...they dont wanna see em..then geted an idea.. how bout....LOOK AT THE ACTUAL ITEM HES REVIEWING THEN INSTEAD OF STARING AT HIS FEET! ! Seems like a decent system for everyday mopping Paul. For anything really gross, use your original mop bucket for clean water and use this one for cleaning/emptying the mop. Maybe slight overkill but it's not everyday that you're cleaning-up anything too lumpy.👍😁

No. The clean water tank lifts right out so you have full access to the dirty bucket. I did hear someone complain about keeping the clean water tank, well, clean. We just rinse the the inside with hot water, wash the outside and never have any trouble. The dirty bucket, just dump and rinse or wash as needed....

The mop head is very small and so is the two areas where the clean water and the mop goes into in order to spin it dry. The old one is much larger. The benefit of this one is the dirty water being separated from the clean water, however, there’s a hack to do the same with the old one using a Lowes bucket.

Smaller mop head, smaller water reservoir and you fill water up more and you are still putting a dirty mop in water and wringing it out so I don't think it's that much different. A little gimmicky if you ask me.

@@Resist4 that's why you can only get away with it when the water tank is full and the pickup area is lower so the water goes down to the lower area. Only for that short period of time.

Once you mop, and put the mop head back in the "fresh" water to continue mopping, you are putting a dirty mop head into the clean water correct???
@pauly7218
@pauly7218 Жыл бұрын
NOPE! That is the genius of this system. The fresh water section only holds enough water to soak up the mop head 1 time, then refills itself while you mop with brand new fresh water!!!!! When you wring out the dirty mop, the dirty water goes into a separate dirty water section. It is actually very ingenious. Fresh cleaner/water every time you return!

@@pauly7218 This was my issue, too. I would spin the used mop before putting it in the "clean" water like he did. That said, I just bought the old O-Cedar system that I'm about to unbox and will be using my old standard mop bucket to rinse.
@karig6674
@karig6674 10 ай бұрын
@@pauly7218 I disagree. I think putting the Dirty mop in clean reservoir...over and over..maybe a "little" cleaner but not worth the smaller mop head and smaller reservoir. I owned this for one day. Had to fill it up 3 times to mop my kitchen. Just mop weekly, don't wear your shoes in your house and change your water when it looks dirty. No magic people, it's work.

I have found I can control the way the mop comes out, wet or dry. If I want a pretty wet mop I step on the pedal lightly and only a time or two. To get it really dry, Mash that peddle fast and a number of times and you will be surprised how dry the mop gets. Certainly, your milage may vary....

@pauly7218
@pauly7218 14 күн бұрын
@@helloworld5182 It is hard to explain. Each time you wet the mop, it sucks up a measured amount of water in the clean side. When you remove teh mop, the clean side refills itself again with another measured amount of clean water. When you ring out the mop, the dirty water drops into a separate area of the bucket. Yes, there is still some contamination but short of washing the mop head and refilling the bucket after every pass there isn't really anything better. If I'm worried about the cleanliness of the mop head or the new water, I will rinse/wring, then rinse wring again.

Newsflash: with a mop full of 'vomit' going back in to your 'fresh' reservoir, you are completely contaminating ALL of your clean water including the inside of the 'fresh' reservoir container. You might want to consider trying this tip, which you won't find on the box's instructions: Take your 'vomit' or other 'chunky-covered' mop over to your toilet bowl, insert mop head into a clean bowl of water, agitate a bit to loosen chunks, and then flush once or twice while continuing to agitate the mop head in the rushing water. You could even introduce a splash of cleaning fluid by the second or third flush. Guaranteed a way cleaner mop head than what you'll get from the little rinser/spinner on the O'Cedar... This is all contingent of course, on your toilet bowl being fairly clean for the most part. (If your turlet bowl is all nasty and crusty, then just forget this suggestion and go back to your plastic mop bucket...) Finally, you can reintroduce your now freshly/thoroughly rinsed and 'vomitless' mop head back into the soapy dipper part of your O'Cedar Spin Mop set up, and carry on, knowing that you've spared the plastic interior parts of your mop system's aquatic ecology from 'vomit' or whatever other nastiness you might encounter on your cleaning adventures... Just a thought; keep the real nastiness for the bowl... ;) BTW, I've had one of these for few months, and the young cleaning/home assistant gals that the local senior service send over here can rarely figure out how it works, I have to explain it to them step by step, and sometimes they still don't quite get it... ;)

How about you just take your dirty mop and put it in your sink and run clean water and get all the vomit down the drain and then over into the bucket to get soapy water on the mop and ring it out and wash the floor .
