The New Balance 997 Is Getting A Refresh, And It's Great. New Balance 997R ‘Navy Arctic Gray’ Review

The New Balance 997R is a remodeling of an old New Balance shoe, the 997 which originally released in 1991 and has returned a few times since then. The 997R is already available in Europe, however, the official release date for the United States is still unknown. New Balance hopes to apply the remodeling magic to this shoe, similar to what they did with the 1906R and 2002R.
The 'Navy Arctic Gray' 997R is one of the first available colorways and I'm very impressed. Check out my in depth review including colorway, materials, quality, size and comfort. On feet footage included!

These are clean. But nothing beats the originals. 997 made in usa, if you get a chance you should give em a spin. They are hard to come by for a good price, but the quality, comfort & esthetic is worlds beyond other models imo. Great review 👏🏼

Thank you for reviewing and showcasing this NB. I was just like you where I didn’t care for NB’s but right before Teddy Santis drops I have been collecting NB’s for it’s upscale materials and comfort. And I have to say that the collab with Action Bronson’s Baklava’s are one of the best, one of my top 5 shoes of the year.

Man I love new balance but the sizing difference in each shoe model is crazy. I just got these 997r's and 8.5 is kinda tight but my 997s's 8.5 give me plenty of room. It makes me hesitant to buy online without first going to try on my self

Yeah! This new article will be making 997 line up great again. After the OG one, not really like about the 997H. But this 997R is really awsome. Those shape on faiyaahhh 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

Other then them being 'snug'. Do they poke your feet anywhere? Update. I got these and yes i agree with everything you said about fit and comfort, they are snug, super planted and supportive. One of my goto beaters. Great shoe at a great price.

Some media outlets and retail stores that sell them were stating ENCAP. But you're right that might be wrong, difficult to find a definitive answer. There's not a lot of information on this still and still hasn't released in the United States.
