my stepdad bought some kind of 3 point mower/chipper thingy. it was supossed to be brand new. they asked if they could put it on his tractor for him and he said it will be a few days and he can do it. well, one of the bottom links was bent where you couldn't attach it. so he just ignored it and the day before he wanted to do the mowing he called and said he wanted it attached. so they came,saw the problem and said" a new one will be on it's way shortly" we are luckey we have good dealers here!!!

Hi Wes, been watching and enjoying your videos for some time. I enjoy seeing all of your equipment and watching you working on it. Lately however it seems that everything is a rant about anything and everything. How about getting back on a positive track?

@onelonleyfarmer and my son hit a guywire so thats was the end of it i would prolly have 20 thousand acres or more before i replaced it.and you dont have enough days in a year to rake 1000 acres a year with a 640 john deere rake.
@onelonleyfarmer13 жыл бұрын
@brian93ist not to burst your bubble but i had the tandem rake system years ago they do a good job if you are only doing a couple of hundred acres i rake over 2500 acres a year most rollabar rakes never see that many acres in there life the wheel rake is faster it picks everything up that is in the field and rarely break down this one had a collision before it came to me i have a new one now and it works wonderfully the old new holland rake that i had to replace had over ten thousand acres on it

i agree with you on that one. alfalfa they are the best other than a merger.

Never buy anything without trying it out first. The dealerships around here are nice to me because i've paid them so much over the years. Most farm dealerships here make more money renting out equipment that selling it. The nearest JD by me has a deal where if you buy new, you get free parts for it. It's gotten so bad that when i go in to get something like filters they'll ask if i want to "try out" a new implement. They don't leave me alone.

We used to run the " v rake" until we switched to a Kuhn rotary, and let me tell you that was the best decision we ever made. Less teeth to change, built heavier, adjustable swath width.
@The4u2nv11 жыл бұрын
i agree smonhaut...rotary rakes from millerpro, claas, kuhn, and krone do an excellent job raking hay, but they only work correctly if the operator adjusts them correctly to the field conditions. it is much harder for farmers w/ wheel rakes to make horse quality hay than it is for farmers with rotary rakes. anybody that has problems with rotary rakes is generally inexperienced or just plain lazy.

You know they always gotta try the "you think you can live with it" thing, and see if they can figure a way out of it without taking it back - something that costs less than them having to keep it. Two kinds of equipment: 1) New 2) Needs to be fixed
@freddythestandard12 жыл бұрын
Not being a dick here or anything but this is why you have them come out and set the rake for your tractor the day you rake, thats how we've always bought our rake and we've never had any problems.

You should consider rotary rakes, class makes great ones the have single, double, triple and quad ones they are way way better than v rakes.
@deefowler673312 жыл бұрын
You should see our rake its pieced together from gettin bent after hittin shit :)

I would take the POS back to your vendor and demand a new one. The is total Bravo Sierra if you catch my drift.
@dirkjenmn11 жыл бұрын
you should get a golden eagle wheel rake
@Smonhaut12 жыл бұрын
They work better for alfa alfa, with a v rake the verry outside windrow basically all thoae wheels hit that outside windrow of hay, if it were alfa alfa it would knock those leaves off.
@The4u2nv11 жыл бұрын
how did you get them to give in to your demands when you bought the rake "as is" at the dealer?
@brian93ist13 жыл бұрын
@jasonmushersee thats because there not selling much equipment lots of good buys at farm auctions after seeing the tounghe i would not have wanted this rake hay equipment is to expensive to tear up

@onelonleyfarmer so the new rake is broke i am not suprized i would go to a auction and but 2 dolly wheel rakes one that rakes hay to the left and one that rakes hay to the right and tandem them together and you will never have a problem with them they will rake 18ft and do a way better job than these wheel rakes my neghbours 640 jd rake is 40 years old and has never broke its a jd though it has rakes over 40000 acres of hay wheel rakes are a poor desighn you have to buy the whole wheel
@markworzalla263511 жыл бұрын
it won't hold up for long crossing washouts putting all that weight on one wheel. I'm
@JOHNPHUFNAGEL10 жыл бұрын
Iam not saying that its not bent but the gaps between the plates are from shitty fab work when it was built. The heat from welding bowed the plates that's what it looks like. FYI Iam a welder so I have to deal with that happening all the time
