In GM defense, I imagine the car by default has the “auto” headlights feature like all other new cars. If they do, you will rarely have to use the screen to control the headlights.

It’s unbelievable that cruise control isn’t standard in absolutely everything. I spent a 2 hour long drive in my rental car trying to figure out how to turn on cruise control. It didn’t have cruise control. Felt like I was in the Stone Age.

I genuinely think every youtuber missed the memo that the Trail Boss is based on the WT. Its meant to be cheap but have off-road features. Half of the stuff he mentioned were add ons and special packages. The WT and TB are twins and the LT and Z71 are twins. The zr2 just has the best off everything.

If you want to get rid of basically all physical buttons, you’re going to have to make everything work with voice commands. The gov shouldn’t let manufacturers force drivers to futz with screen menus to do everything, especially when they outlaw looking at your phone while driving.

How often do you touch the headlight switch? In this truck, you set it to automatic once and then never touch it again. It's probably set to automatic by default so it needs to be set zero times. That is not "imperative" by any means.

@@excape_artist No, I'm saying that the actual function of that specific switch, the headlight control, is not an imperative function. For things that are used often, like temperature control, there should be physical buttons for that. The headlight on/off/auto function is only used to be set to auto once and then rarely if ever used again. My point is not that physical controls are bad, it's that this specific function does not need a physical control.

My dodge has 4 “secret” compartments but it has one actual secret compartment. The control cluster for headlights in it can be pulled out of the dash and shoved back in in just a few seconds. Definitely a place real DEA and other enforcement agencies know about, but most cops wil not.

I actually don't understand this thought because, unless mine is different, the brights/"flash" is on the turn signal not infotainment. Regular headlight controls are in the infotainment though

It's the on/off, not the hi/low beam that's in the screen. I've been driving a GMC the last 20 years and have used the switch probably 4 times.

I set my headlights to auto, and then never think about them again lol. You still have brights to flash on the left steering wheel knob.

@@jmay5583 Actually, you do have to think about it again. Whenever you take the vehicle in for service, the techs always mess with the lights and you have to put them back to auto yourself.

Newer car models have mid interiors in general, only a few that I like but most cars nowadays have the ugliest futuristic interior designs ever. I like older car interior designs because they don’t have that futuristic design to them and that type of technology wasn’t built in them yet which is what I like.

@@buffhorses3632he has a ton of reviews where he focuses on the suspension of trucks. He just did the ATX4 and went into how it has rock sliders and adjustable struts for off roading. He didnt bother mentioning it here because this truck is freakin garbage for this price range and only Grandpas drive Colorados. I bet 1 out of 100,000 made actually see anytime off road.

my old o6 colorado 5 cylinder was a beast. i pulled a hummer out of the snow and was able to flip a subaru that had rolled upside down doing donuts on a dry lake bed. was it the best strongest truck ever....no but it was an absolute beast for what it was.

Nahh, the damped tailgate is an absolutely good feature. You don’t need to worry about slamming the tailgate when you’re opening it, and closing the tailgate becomes almost effortless. Although this chevy is way too damped.

GM salesperson, the light switch in the dash is also on our Canyon. We have done this for several reasons cost saving not one. Mainly the consumer has been accustomed to auto headlight and recent years even auto high beam functionality standard. This paired with better quality bulbs and headlights has led to consumers not touching the switch or maybe a couple times a year. This as well as other functions such as traction control now are not used and have allowed us to utilize the existing space better.
