23 years ago, incredible. I was 11 when I was playing Perfect Dark on the N64 in our basement. I spent so many months of my life on the Combat Simulator against the Sims! The challenges were refreshing for the time.

To be honest single player Goldeneye was genius and tons of fun, multiplayer not so much unless you actually had people over to play with. Perfect Dark is in my opinion by far much better in terms of both single player and multiplayer, they added so much more with PD. With that said Goldeneye will always be dear to me as this was my first experience with 3D first person shooter, and back then it was an absolute blast!

So cool, although unfortunately as a big F-Zero X fan, I don't ever expect it to see a PC port for being too niche. A modernized version of the track editor and online play would be amazing, especially since Nintendo abandoned the series. Breathes life into the existing games which are still amazing to play.

I totally love Goldeneye, however, when I played Perfect Dark on 1964 Emulator with keyboard and mouse it was some of the best gaming I've ever experienced.

I don't think that is google 😛 I think it's just the incredible universe we live in and it's mystery of syncronicities 🤷‍♂ Speaking of lately: Yesterday I had an insane experience that left me speechless. I was watching a clip of a movie called Ready Player 1 in the livingroom with my dad. (I had never seen it before). There was this hero guy being invited to a meeting with the villian right.. The villian had a helper in his ear, feeding him with things to say in order to fool the hero. When this was going on, I said to my dad: Oh it's another one of these scenarios, where the hero just eats it up foolishly. Then I said: It would have been so much more interesting IF the hero actually saw through the bullshit and called the vilian out for it. To see how that would play out instead, to make it something fresh and different. The literal EXACT SECOND I finished saying it, THAT is what happened in the movie!!! I was like WHAT ?!?! My dad just looked at me with a big wtf smile on his face and we just laughed in disbelief 😂 I have completely lost count of how many times I have come across something right after having given some thought about it, I guess this experience was more about my intuition and timing though. It's sooooo fascinating how our Universe works 🤩 Yet, it's probably just natural when we don't spend time offering resistance in our lives 🤪 Oh yeah: Perfect Dark is the best game ever made and I'm loving every second of getting to FINALLY play this with a mouse and keyboard 🙏💙

Yeah, it's amazing! I just saw a video where someone confirms what you say about the AI being tied to frame rate. So you are spot on! I am having an interesting experience with the aiming in this game, that I didn't feel was present on N64. I wonder if it's something I need to change in settings or something else. I have been playing FPS games on PC since Counter-Strike 1.6 in like 2004 ish. So I know how to handle a mouse and keyboard hehe. Yet I find myself struggling a little with the aiming in this game. Also, the sway thing makes me feel like I am almost on a boat whenever I stand still. I can't remember if the game has this or not, nor if it felt this noticeable. I think or at least hope that this is not the end of the port. As I want this to look as good as it can. If the HD edition you are refering to would make text and thumbnails HD. Then I see this as the next natural step. IF there is some slight mouse delay (without V Sync) I want this fixed too. Ofcourse I'm not just demanding haha. I am absolutely willing to pay for this! Speaking of pay I am going to donate a decent amount of money to whoever made this possible. This is a dream come true! 🥰

@@PsychoBackflip I don't feel any mouse delay with v-sync off capped at 118fps (to reduce screen tearing). The motion of the ocean effect is in the original and gets worse as Joanna runs making aiming harder, it's probably possible to include an option to remove it, the HD edition did increase text resolution but someone will probably make a mod just for that before someone brings over the graphics upgrades. You may be finding aiming difficult because the actual firing point is slightly to the left or right of the crosshair, i can't remember which, it wasn't as noticeable in N64 resolutions and with the auto aim but it's something that became obvious in emulation. Walk up to a wall with the Falcon 2 and see where the laser dot is in comparison to the crosshair, hopefully that gets adjusted some day also.

Even with both versions availbable: This and the Remaster with all textures, thumbnails etc in HD. The definitive experience will still be a subjective matter. Because some prefer the remaster and others the OG 😛

There’s a project for it already. It takes time obviously but there’s loads of N64 titles specifically that are currently being decompiled to create native PC ports for them.

Perhaps if it gets reverse engineered and then somebody ports it. After that they could look into the feasibility of removing the censorship in the game. More than likely the N64 game would be the more likely port of Conker that you could expect anytime soon.

I haven't gone all the way through myself but from what I've read, yes you can. You can also activate built-in cheats to level select and I poked around in some later ones and it seemed fine!

I like the Rare Replay version, there's some good qol improvements but some of the new models are awful. I much prefer the original models and heads. It's sacrilegious that the new devs erased and replaced the heads of the old devs.

@@thetombuckPlus you can't even put an alien head on a human body, because they made it so that you can't interchange male/female heads & bodies. Which, fine. But they never fixed the alien head on a human body, and the ONLY sims I like fighting against are tuxedo wearing aliens. So they literally took away the single most important Perfect Dark feature for me lol. Plus the forced 45% deadzone, sterile art direction/graphics in multiplayer arenas, and lack of proper strafing support or a good southpaw option (which would've been movement with the right stick, and d-pad for strafing and vertical aiming, just like the default 1.1 control scheme from the N64 game)... The XBLA version of PD really sucks and I strongly dislike it.
