Күн бұрынHow to kill chargers in Helldivers 2, the postscript to the previous addendum (a whole minute faster to kill chargers!). I love the Helldivers 2 devs, but they really screwed me with that last update. They couldn't give me a few days worth of adsense money? That video was going to slap! 100k views minimum!
Anyway, long story short, to kill Chargers in Helldivers 2, you shoot them in the head with a rocket launcher. Boom. End of story. Railgun (only in unsafe mode) works too! Don't blow yourself up, though. Spear, autocannon, and laser cannon (we have a lot of cannons) stonks down big from this update.
Arc thrower lovers, enjoy it while it lasts; that is all I'll say. And finally, this guide works for solos, groups, whatever. Go out there and spread democracy 🫡

As someone who uses the flamethrower more than any primary, it def does deal a lot more damage to the leg of a charger. One quarter tank kills it. In your clip at 3:38 you’re just a bit too far away and most of the flames teeter off before connecting directly and that’s why it took the whole tank

yeah I kept watching videos of people taking out chargers quickly with a flamethrower and then tried it only to take an entire tank. I only realized recently that for some strange reason, it matters where you aim with the flamethrower. aim at one of the legs and they go down quick.

not really a weak spot it's just unarmored. it still resistant to non AP rounds which most primaries are. still a good 2nd option but not the head it the best spot to target so long as you have a proper explosive weapon or the arc/flame thrower.

Flamethrower is king for chargers. You can kill a charger aiming at a designated leg with a quarter of a canister. Takes about 3-4 seconds. 4 canisters = 16 potential charger kills (if everything is perfect) Bonus: Picking up any ammo, either supply drop or small ammo packs scattered on the map will refill ALL 4 canisters. EAT is definitely more fun to use and I still bring it for the Titans.

Its not king for anything else really so not worth using. You and your teams have to be careful with the fire which is another thing to make the game more tedious.

Supposedly the new warbond has some armor that is strong against electric and if a teammate is wearing that you can use them as a conduit to kill enemies swarming them without causing too much damage 😂

Depending on the source of the damage. Arcthrowers still deal a moderate amount of damage, the new shotgun barely does any damage but it ragdolls you for some reason, and the Tesla Tower doesn't one shot you, but it still hurts quite a bit, it'll three shot you.

For the autocannon, shooting the flesh on the back of the charger is still an option as it blows up in 3 shots. It won't kill the charger right away, but it does cause it to bleed out after a bit and renders it unable to charge. Not the best, but good to keep in mind. You can also do it with the nade launcher, but it will take more rounds. The laser cannon can probably do it but idk how long it would take. Other options are two impact nades to the Charger's face, or an EMP Nade then followed up by a support strategem on the charger itself.

Atm the quasar cannon is the go to weapon for both chargers and bile titans, you have to charge it up but its got amazing range and devastating power although it has to cool down after every shot but its literally no longer than 10 seconds. It also has unlimited ammo.

Excellent for higher difficulties where your teammates might be crack shots, and there are far more chargers and heavy units!

Devs themselves said they will not remove the leg trick. For laser cannon you can also lase the ass of the charger and in about 1-2 charges you can take em out.

Also an important point. If you find yourself without your trusty EAT when encountering a charger, try and stick the charger with the strat. You may just take them out with the hellpod

Although I use the grenade launcher a ton, I haven’t tested on the heads of chargers. Does that work better now or do they still bounce off for some fun grenade roulette?

So I just fought my first chargers ever today. I’m still low level and don’t have access to almost any of this. I was able to kill several chargers relatively quickly with the grenade launcher by targeting their back or the ground underneath them. I think it took like 4 or 5 nades but you can pump em out pretty fast so it was no problem.

I would add it's good to take new armor which get 95% resist to arc damage. If u see more then 1 arc thrower in ur team (trust me it save some of reinforces..)

Arc thrower is still good. Before the last patch you could chain stagger a hulk with just one and kill it without it fighting back. They just increased the threshold for staggering though, so IDK if you can still do that anymore.

Spear still decent against charger, will always break the armor and I've found that while charger is charging towards you it nearly always hits the head which kills.

I swear ppl be sleeping on the spear. When i play with my friend and he brings recoiless i always bring spear. Super great for 1 hittinf titans in the face lol. the chargers can def be a bit more difficult but as long as its coming at u head on and u have just enuff diatance youll also one hit. At the least youll tear off a huge chunk of armor on the side leaving it super exposed.

I find my self using the E-A-T way more often. It's fast and can take down charger one shot, shoot objectives far away, have only a minute cooldown and it has one for your friend !!

its just ridiculous that the autocannon can't penetrate the armor of a charger. its a fricking autocannon! how the hell does it just ricochet off? Charger armor would have to be harder and tougher than the most incredible material we know of to manage that without shattering or deforming. It should just take more shots to break through the armor, but not be completely ineffective.

Flamethrower does infact do more damage to the leg than any other body part, you need to target a specific leg because chargers HP is spread across the body parts. If you stun a charger to make it easier with the new nade, then focus on a leg, you can easily get a charger with like half a flame canister. I think vs chargers specifically, the flamethrower is far superior to the arc thrower. Arc thrower might be a better weapon overall but versus chargers flamethrower is far better.

Quick thing with arc thrower it is 75% not 50% the cursor is lying to you. I tested it by timing it. It takes 1 second to fully charge the arc thrower AKA when it makes a sound. It takes 0.75 seconds of charge before it will fire.

Well i really love it too but it does feel weird to have such a great all around weapon that doesn't require a backpack slot, id say a good nerf would be adding a backpack to recharge it otherwise infinite amo good vs crowds AND elites is a bit too much but i agree with you I'm scared of a nerf

Definitely used way less fuel when aiming at the charger leg a consistent 25% of tank to kill one. Again like you said though this is a bug no point in getting good or used to it since it’s leaving soon.

A way to nerf the arc thrower is make it the anti railgun. You need to charge it to full so the lightning jumps further. If it isn't charged enough, it jumps nearer, possibly to yourself and killing you. Therefore charging it to 50% still does the same damage, but if there isn't any enemies nearby, it'll jump to you instead. Risk v Reward while keeping the damage potential.

so, question... do they just want us to kill chargers with stratagems every time? it seems every time players find a way to kill them without using stratagems, they nerf/change its performance. i imagine the recoilless will see a nerf now that we can easily oneshot them with it. hows that any different from the early railgun days?

The recoilless one shot isn't the problem, it's the EATs. Recoilless has a few drawbacks (logg individual reloads, backpack slot, long cooldown if you lose it). EATs are amazing... But really braindead lol

@@edwardsantiago9109 right i totally agree. i thought braindead gameplay was the main thing they are attempting to avoid, but i have yet to see an arc thrower nerf, even though its arguably more braindead than the railgun with infinite ammo, no overheat, no unsafe mode, and no reload. thats the problem with balancing changes in general. theyll be constant and unrelenting, and completely contradictory to the previous one

1:44 yeah this is misinformation. It's not targeting the "back" of the charger's leg. This is simply exploiting armor vulnerability after charge. You can use any weapon. AC is only good against the butt, on an undamaged charger

Ok so the flamethrower is 1000% still has a faster ttk if you are aiming at a leg and in the clip you show you are so far away from the charger you are hardly hitting it took you 1 whole tank to kill it that's bad it should only take at max 1/2-1/4 of a tank and with the arc thrower you are charging it to long after the first shot you can charge it just past half way and you will be able to fire it you get the same dmg but a much faster rate of fire

I blew myself up on the third-ish shot in the heat of battle and survived, stimmed, went for cover, tried to swap back to railgun and is not there 🤔😐 Yeah, dumb moment, completely forgot that the thing blew up in my face almost killing me just seconds before 😂

@@shinime8885 personally I dislike Quasar. I don't think it's all it's cracked up to be, the charge time is too high for when you're in situations with more than just one heavy enemy in front of you. Plus screen shake always makes me miss lol

Misinformation. Aiming for a specific spot with the flamethrower will help massively if you're actually in range for proper direct damage instead of just setting them on fire.

If you aim at a leg with the flamethrower, it will kill it much quicker than what you showed. I dont undertand how you did not notice this when testing.

EATs>Recoilless simply because you can call down the EATs down ON the charger itself every 63s. That's effectively 3 possible shots (maybe 2.5 since landing the strat ball on the charger body is tough and it doesn't always insta kill them) every 63s. Recoilless aint got shit against the Autocannon anyway, which is alot more useful for another nonsensical unbalanced enemy - the OHKO bile spewer.

It would be cool if the arc thrower had a timing minigame like the railgun. If you time it just right, your next shot charges faster, which can stack if you keep getting it, with the downside that every successive 'overcharged' shot becomes more chaotic, and can arc back towards you.

Targeting one leg absoulety kills chargers faster with the flamethrower, you can drop a charger if you focus one leg with less then half a canister. You can drop two chargers in one canister. So at least do some testing before spinning bullshit Also the laser and autocannon shred chargers arses. There primary use case is against spewers though. Another shit tier youtube spreading misinformation.

Anti tank weapons should "anti" the "tank" part of the enemy. It's stupid that the devs keep saying stuff like "why aren't you shooting the armor piercing weapons at the un-armored butt?" when the front legs were breakable, to allow non-pierce to work.
