Thank You! I've been considering a pump, your review is the first I've seen of the pump going from ground level to the top of the machine.

Glad I could help! It would probably pump faster if the can was sitting higher, but it works just fine from the ground. Thanks for watching!

I use the one from Harbor Freight. I raise the loader just above the hood lay 2x6 across loader arms and set tank on 2x6. It is slower but works great and batteries last pretty good

Well done, Martin. I like the fact that the transfer pump fills Big Orange in 2.5 minutes compared to 6 minutes. Anything is better than attempting to squeeze and firmly hold a plastic spring-loaded funnel-button on a 5 gallon container. The longer hose nicely eliminates having to hoist a heavy-azz fuel container onto the tractor. I totally enjoyed a 5-gallon full-watch 😊. Thanks for the quality video, my friend. Have a fine week and I hope you're enjoying this comfortable cool weather. I finally am. Don 👍🏽🤠 10/4/22

Thanks Don! Yes the long hose spares me the effort of hoisting the fuel can on to the tractor. And yes, I’m loving the cooler weather! I can actually work outside comfortably without risking a heat stroke. Hope you have a most excellent week too. Thanks for a full 5-gallon watch! 😃

Hey Martin - a cool method I found was getting a 14gal portable tank (had wheels on bottom and it's own hose/nozzle - gravity fed). I just lift it up with the bucket on the front loader to raise it high enough for gravity to do its thing. works great. Only issue is the weight of a full tank is over 100lbs when unloading from truck.

Very good demo. The only thing I would change is your tractor power supply. I would have routed the wire to the same side as your gas cap. This way you could watch the 5gal can and the fill hose on the same side.

Haha, I bought the siphon hose early this year after seeing your video. Got the tractor in May. So far I haven't taken the hose out of its package. Yep - it was "quicker" to just pour the fuel in using a big funnel. But I'm gonna make sure I use the siphon hose a few times before I upgrade to this new better method! (And thanks for all these great videos, they're really among the most useful tractor videos out there.)

Hi Jim! Depending on how high it is from the ground, you may get by with a shorter hose. I think TeraPump also makes pumps with 5’ hoses that are less expensive than the 10’ models. Glad you like the mirrors too!

One of my biggest gripes about my Kubota is filling the fuel tank! 5 gallon gas can is heavy to maneuver without spilling plus I don’t like scratching up the hood. ( I lay an old carpet over the hood a set the fuel can on it) Good idea! I’ll probably implement something like this eventually !

Great video as always Martin. I am getting older and that sure beats lifting the can to fill it. I would love to find something that doesn't drip. I absolutely can not stand the smell of diesel. I am thinking about some sort of gravity fed method, but don't have a good one yet. Keep up the good work!
@DIYMyWay

Thanks, Marty! Gravity feed means lifting the can higher than the tank. If you have a front end loader you could put the fuel can in the bucket and raise it up then start a syphon with a long enough hose. Thanks for watching!

Nice pump Martin. It’s pricey, but if it does what you need it to do the price is moot. I’m lucky in that the Harbor Freight pump that can be had for around $9 on sale works like a champ for me. Funny, the ‘Amazon’s Choice’ one from Ideaworks is the same exact same pump as the HF one at more than double the cost, lol. At any price these little pumps are a lifesaver for those with bad backs, arthritis, etc. who find hoisting a 35 lb fuel container shoulder high for 2-3 minutes a pain. Also liked your idea to wire it to your battery charger plug, that was a neat and clean way to do it. Thanks for another excellent video, really enjoy this channel! 👍

Well, if the laws of physics have changed recently, I was not made aware of it... Lol! The length of the hose makes a difference with flow restriction. Especially a corrugated HDPE pipe. If you had a 3ft hose, it would be even faster. So you can't really compare the 2 minutes it takes with a normal 2D battery-operated pump with a short hose... which involves lifting the can most likely above the tank to fill! I've found it's easier to empty the hose back into the can, then pour the remaining like you did. I like the way you made a quick electric connection, which is convenient. Thanks!
@DIYMyWay

Hi Joe! Remember I said it was a localized change in the laws of physics. I don’t think you have anything to worry about in Canada - yet. 😁 Thanks for watching!

One of things I like about our Grand L 3560 is that the fuel cap is near the floor which makes life easier. However, as others have mentioned, we aren't getting any younger and this would be handy. I'm thinking it may pump closer to spec since it doesn't have to go up as high. Also, I noticed the yellow pump to match the yellow diesel cans. Are you able to get red? I was thinking 🤔 maybe to get one for gas and diesel if you could get different colors.
@DIYMyWay
@DIYMyWay Жыл бұрын
Hi Jim! Yes, it should pump closer to spec if it’s not pumping as high up. In fact, they do make a red one with a 39”hose (amzn.to/3yl81GC) and a red one with a 10 ft hose (amzn.to/3SLtCAy), but they both run on 2 D batteries. If that’s not an issue for you, then one of them may be a good fit for you. Thanks for watching!

Good stuff but was wondering about where you buy your Diesel Fuel. I have only used Off Road Diesel in my Kubota since I bought it and I purchased a new Fuel Oil tank and filled it just before my Furnace died so I've been using that same fuel for a year now and the fuel delivered for a furnace is the same as off road diesel. My station across the street just started selling diesel but don't wanna use it if it has problems.

Good video. If I used my tractor more, I'd definitely buy one of those. (As it is, I've had my B2601 for at least 6 weeks and only have 5 hours on it. It's been way too hot here to do much outside. Hopefully that will change soon.) An unrelated question... I noticed your 4-wheeled hose-reel cart in the background while you were fueling the tractor. I need one or two of those. Do you like that one? If so, what brand is it? Maybe you could put it in your Amazon store if it's available there? (There are a bunch of them on Amazon, but from the reviews it's hard to tell which are good.) Thanks!

Thank you, Laura! I hope cools off soon for you so you can play on your new tractor.
