Your reviews are always the best and something I look forward to. Great job! Also, your mixing abilities and the sound you get from any device is beyond what I hear from most YT channels. I was wondering if you would consider doing an “update” for how you record your songs and common plugins/Eq’s you use, etc? It would be cool to see your workflow for your DAW. 👍🏻

Second this. The SDS videos with a Helix Amp on stock settings into an Ownhammer IR sound better than anything I ever put together. There is a widespread public opinion that the Helix amp models themselves are inferior to Axe FX, but yours sound better. After YT compression, through computer speakers. Had mine a couple of days now, first thing it did was a firmware update. So far I’m pretty happy, cloned three valve amps which sound as good as my Kemper profiles do. It’s not got as many amps or effects as my helix but the modelling sounds are on par with my helix/GT1000. One thing that I’ve noticed is how I seem to find the sound I’m looking for fairly quickly, that fist day I was spending far more time playing guitar than fiddling with tones which I do on my other units. I probably spent a couple of hours just looping and improvising , the next day I put a few backing tracks I’ve made on a usb stick and spent half the day just Jamming along to songs. I’ve also cloned a couple of pedals which worked well, one needed some tweaking to get it right. But most of all I like that I’m spending more time playing and less time tone chasing, but still happy with the tones Ive created 🙂

I think the cloned version of the MT15 sounded a little muffled, some of the high end clarity was missing. On it's own it's probably fine but back to back it was noticeable. With the fidelity of the recent ToneX captures, it sounds like HeadRush has some ground to make up. Still a great feature that puts it up there with QuadCortex but for a decent price discount. It looks like they took square aim at Helix with this one.
@Worlds_Worst_Guitarist

From my understanding you can play around with EQ, Sag, Chug etc in the capturing section. So i think you can get it still way closer to the original, but it sounded already great to me the way he used it! The ToneX on the other hand i sent back because i felt it sounded a bit "soulless" and kinda the same "feel" on all Captures, oh - and no Effects (except a bit of Reverb + Compressor), no further tweakability (because basically you are tweaking a "Snapshot" of a sound which limits the tweaking) and some other things. BTW i don't profile my own Amps because i only have one left not gigging anymore - so this is not my main focus. For me the new Headrush looks more promising - and should be at my door by next week 🙂 But everbody is different!
@kopleman

Also , imho, good question how many captures were done? As I heard for Kemper you need to do it sometimes more than once to get a good tone. P.S. I never have a "capture-device" but thinking about this one or QC. And what I saw from youtube videos even QC sometimes produce low quality captures due to fact that there is a lot of variables in this thing

The amp clone is definitely darker with less definition in the high mids. Maybe something that could be slightly fixed with a touch of EQ
@lorenmorgan1931
@lorenmorgan1931 Жыл бұрын
Yeah I totally hear something missing in the 800hz, and the 1k-2k ranges for sure. That is the magic part that is missing, and the Tonex and NAM have that down. At least vs the Kemper the profile sounds way more dynamic. Looks overall though like this is a very promising pedal, especially with the much underrated ReValver 4 stuff. I just wonder if you can tweak the amps like you can in ReValver 4, because changing out the tubes or making your own amp schematics are nothing short of amazing. Either way, this is a Helix killer for sure!

19:48 This is actually the key to amazing tones on the Headrush. 1 amp into 2 cabs with different mic settings and stereo output makes all the amps sound bigger and more 3D than anything else on the market. Most people don't know to try this, however.

Let me tell you. I own a quad cortex and the hype doesn't match with the thing. Quality build its nice. Solid metal, quality knobs. But... the QC has some issues with it that they claim they have been working on. 1- there is no computer software to edit, so you must have your QC beside you if you are setting a recording. 2- mine included, seems that a bunch have black light screen leakage on the corners that they have said its a normal thing. For that price, its not acceptable. 3- some people have been having issues with the wifi (not me) Sound quality is nice. Stock presets are nice, but the community is waiting long for the PC editor and their plug-ins compatibility. this could be a game changer, but for the price, i think its a bit too much. Im thinking on selling my QC and getting one of these headrush tbh

the profiler is quite far off, but it's a nice gimmik to have. i can notice the lack of top end even in the full mix, and i haven't even used my good headphones yet. not surprising considering how little time it takes and how little processing power it can utilize, compared to tonex that can leverage your GPU for an hour. overall seems like a good unit, but the profiler in this quality isn't a killer feature imo. not a reason for me to switch away from helix, especially as helix has been incredible in terms of support and updates. I/O seems about in line with the helix LT at a similar price. for a whole new system, i would have expected a bit more tbh. it all feels a bit disjointed and tossed together. the profiling seems a bit tacked on just to fill out the spec sheet, the revalver integration feels kinda strange too, the stock cab selection is very poor compared to the new helix firmwares, and while i think a touchscreen is great i'm kinda baffled that they chose OLED. this display is gonna show so many permanently static elements, burn in will be brutal in a couple of years. might limit the devices useful life span quite a bit.

I actually think that the Cab Selection is way on top of any other Modeller out there! You not only get the Stock Cabs but the Revalver ones as well, then there are hundreds (!) of own Headrush IRs (that always got overlooked by everyone on the Headrush/Gigboard/MX5, but sounded great) and.............................. Headrush are the only devices i know off where you can literally store a nearly endless amount of your own IRs! The Profiling/Capturing thing is not priority for many (like me) who don't profile their own Amp Collection, so it's a nice Addon.

I have the Core. Headrush put old cabs, old Models and old revalver Software together with a looper you can get in mx5 for half the price. The only new thing is wlan and cloning. I will send it back and buy a very old Helix, because line6 make a lot of Updates, headrush never did much

Jon reverb into delay or delay into reverb and why? I'm setting up a new 8 loop switcher and I'd like your opinion if you dont mind. I will be using full midi implementation and I can change the pedal order inside the looper per patch so I'm not married to the pedal order but still id love your input. Any chance you could do a vid showing this amp clone in real time? There's a few vids showing the cloning and the clone sounds nothing like the real amp. Your clone sounds fantastic. That has me feeling a bit cynical. Would love to see you clone it in real time and see if the results are the same.
@Realroyrogers

At 17:00 you say there is Latency in the clone? are you saying latency during the creation only or are you saying the clone itself after and always will have latency? I cant stand ANY latency, it just clashes with my mental timing to the point that I will not use a device that has it

On my little MX5 i can setup the stereo rig path w say a clean fender blackface soaked in air delay and particle reverb on one side and an overdriven 5150 on the other then assign the pedal to sweep and mix between the 2 tones. Great when u goto looper mode you can lay down a clean rythym then just use the treadle pedal to switch to a dirty lead tone wout ever leaving your scene or patch.
