Dude your the guy who taught me how to ride a bike last year, like I said before after 3 weeks of riding a mountain bike after watching your videos, I was jumping 15 feet gap jumps, and shredding downhill fast Enduro free-ride at breakneck speed around burms, huge steeps and all the other craft you have to learn to ride in all different positions, speed on the bike etc. Then it was suggested to me that I have a hidden talent even at age 49, and to buy an Enduro bike. Three weeks dude after one bloody video "Alexander stand up to the jump, and relax to." So thanks mate, you took me from a beginner biker to intermediate biker after three weeks, many injuries in that three weeks to lol. That's the Beauty of adhd, lol. So now over a year later I'm pushing up to advanced level. I have two bikes. My favorite being the 2021 Maroon colour specialized status 160 mullet. If you ain't ridden it yet I suggest strongly you do, it means business on the front-end and a party at the back end. Lovely imbalanced dragster feel on the back end as the smaller 27.5 wheel bounces around burms and flat corners. The back smaller mullet wheel sends you up lovely into the air as you leave the ramp of a dirt jump, it even gives you a mini whip to without you doing the trick. The 29 inch front wheel is like pacman devouring everything in front of it, the 160 can take massive hits and asks for more massive hits to, it's like the rocky balboa of mtbikes in that it can take a real hard beating and still be fun also. Finally a good looking Ripley and Ripmo. Glad they decided to followed the HD6 design language.

The Loam Ranger just combined two of my favorite things. Porsches and Ripmos. So excited for the V3. My V1 is still performing like a champ though. Any tips about how to get life partners on board for 7k hobby purchases is welcome.

That with sizing I must say is the biggest thing for me ....I am 200cm tall and really there is only handfull of bike in the market which will fit my size. And now Ripmo is the highest on my list for next season.

I've been riding, building, optimizing and improving mountain bikes since 1981, and for decades no one sold a bike I wanted off the shelf. A couple years ago I bought my second (since 81) off the rack bike, full carbon top of the line 29er. Except for changing out the stem, tires and saddle it's perfect. I guess it's good I don't care enough anymore to design my own bike stuff, because I don't need to. The tech to do so has advanced so much too.

Super interesting behind the scenes. The new bikes are pretty sweet. Here's hoping they'll release updated AF bikes (internal storage isn't a big deal, actually better if they left it out).

This is one of the best produced videos in the product release space that I have seen. Thoroughly engaging and holds my very short attention span and doesn't let go. Now to save my pennies for a new bike...

Great to hear your comment about the front wheel lifting on steeper climbs, that was an issue for me too, even with the saddle slammed, super glad to hear that was addressed! I love my ripmo af, but it took a custom suspension tune, a cascade link and 30id wheels to get it there. These seem to fix some of the suspension/progressivity issues, but I still wish there was an adjustable angle headset. Both the ripley (which I ran as a 140mm fork on my af, lending it basiclly the same geo as this iteration) and the Ripmo are so insanely versitile that having that adjustability can make either one of these bikes a one bike solution... so I guess I can appreciate why they kept the geo static haha

Well I moved on from a Ripmo AF to a RM Altitude last year, but that new Ripley looks like it would be a great shorter travel bike for the quiver.

Ugh! Ibis is going to make me spend money I don't have...😂 I recently got a Canyon Spectral 125 CF8. I love it, but the proprietary headset and the creaking cable area behind the bottom bracket are driving me nutty! I have to keep constant maintenance on it to prevent it from creaking. I had an Ibis Ripmo a few years ago, but I am loving the shorter travel and this new Ripley looks like the exact frame I want, especially now that its geometry has been updated to be more aggressive! This was an excellent video. Especially for those of us who like to geek out on the process and all these details.

Ibus looks like they trying to get a bite of the big S market share. Good looking bikes, good looking tech, hope I get a chance to ride one. Great Vid!

I have a Ripmo V1. Fucking great bike. I absolutely love it. The only knock on it is that an Ibis bird is also known as a Bin chicken in Australia. Takes a little shine off a boutique brand.

The thing about a long reach is once your arms are locked out straight, you don't have anything more to work with. Then top tube and seat angle don't matter. Even you, at six feet, preferred the "extra medium." Bikes keep getting bigger and serve small riders less and less.

So...taking Ripley to 130 and maybe 1.5 lbs heavier, how does that impact quickness on less techy and more tight and twisty trails? Makes me wonder if a more stout Exie is on its way to fill the void.

What's the point of beeping out every single trail name? Beyond frustrating.

I’ll start off with… great video as always! But what I need to say is… I CANNOT STAND MARKETING TALK “Size specific chainstays” “Steeper seat tube for taller riders so its balanced” “Size specific kinematics” Chainstays are 2mm different per size. Basically unnoticeable. Maybe the seat tube helps with balance between the wheel’s while seated. But when you stand up… it is no longer balanced at all. The reach might feel okay when seated, but then you stand up and it’s massive, with a short CS, you will just understeer. And size specific kinematics? Well, no shit? If you change the BB per size and use the same rear triangle and just pull the mounts back on the front triangle. You have to have slightly tweaked kinematics. It would be refreshing for a bike company to be transparent and say, “due to costs, we use the same exact rear triangle on every bike, that why the geometry/kinematics are a compromise and not dialed.” Just imagine if every front triangle was the same size, and the rear triangle changed extremely drastically per size? Everyone would be saying it’s ridiculous. Why can bike companies not afford to have size specific frames? Front and rear triangles?

So I thought the chainstay length was directly in proportion to the front center for cornering performance. What I'm understanding in the video only pertains to seated climbing. Someone can let me know if I'm missing something.

I had my Ripmo V2 literally less than two months and they came out with the V2S. Because of the cable port for Shimano derailleurs on the V2, the shifting sucks. They corrected it on the V2S because they knew it was a design flaw, among other corrections like chain line etc.. They would not admit it was a screw up but didn’t offer a solution to their buyers, except to buy a new bike. And now they are doing it again. Not everyone buys a new bike every year when they release a new model, especially when they know they were the problem. I will never buy another Ibis product again. Sorry, once bitten, twice shy.
