This camera is the spiritual successor to GX85 (or GX9) in my book and I’d love to have it as a travel cam, paired with Sigma 28-70 2.8. I wish they would launch a hotshoe viewfinder option for those of us who really love the EVFs though

Ho my god !!! What a small full frame! The camera Sigma never succeeded to build in the L mount !!! You are right, the sigma DG DN Small lenses are perfect for this small guy! It’s like my Leica TL2 but full frame and far more reactive ! So happy to see lumix has came to this instead of a new S1 ii or S1R ii

I find it far too expensive for what it is.

I didn’t feel the need to mention the obvious, and since I rarely use the EVF’s on my other cameras, it didn’t really bother me too much :)

I agree, I hope so too :) the new app will eventually absorb the features from the Lumix Sync app and become their only app, so I think it will be compatible with all lumix cameras in the future :)

I’m able to see the positives of a product, how it fits into my life, and ultimately how much I actually enjoy using it. Granted, there’s downsides to this product, just like there is every other product on the market depending on what perspective you have. I totally get it if this camera isn’t for you, and no one is forcing you to like it, but to question the integrity of my opinion based on your opinion isn’t very fair. Thanks Ronald! They didn’t say unfortunately, but I know their plan is to merge the Lumix Sync App with this new app, so when that happens it’ll have to be compatible with all lumix cameras :)

If you close one eye while looking at the LCD, you can pretend it’s just one big EVF 😉🤣😂

If you rely on AF, then defo wait out for the S5II, however if you plan on manual focussing a lot of the time, then the S5 still has fantastic image quality and remains to be one of my favourite cameras ever made :P

@@JoshCameron Thanks, I will probably go for the S5II (even if the S5 is extremely cheap with just £850). I don't want to switch to the S5II after some years, because I need the AF, I prefere choosing correctly the first time to save some money. BTW. Without your chanel I probably never discoverd the S5, since I was so Sony focused. Thanks !

You’re asking for a camera that’s 3 times heavier or a sensor half the size when you should be recording externally anyway

They haven’t said anything about bringing it to the other cameras yet, although I sincerely hope they do!

Eventually Lumix will merge the Lumix Sync app with the new Lumix Lab app, so that should mean support for all other cameras too !

I made the same mistake selling my Ricoh gr3 for the 14 pro max. Biggest mistake ever. Great as a phone but the camera is rubbish

There’s no SSD recording function on this camera :) I think they’re trying to separate it from the more “workhorse” cameras (S5II/S5IIX)

I think they’ve almost hit the nail on the head with this one. I’ve been wanting a more compact camera that offers quick delivery of images etc (like a Fuji, but with Lumix IQ and ergonomics) , and this is basically that. I know it’s not everyone’s cup of tea, but the S9 has been such a joy to use!

@@JoshCameron yeah. Will be interesting to see what's next. Thinking by next year there will be lumix users asking for the S5iii lol. Great thing about Lumix releasing cameras each year now is that cameras like the S5ii G9ii will drop in price. Only think brands can really add now is higher FPS and 8k codec soon hybrid cameras will be as good as Red cameras 😆

It’s the new 26mm F8 pancake from Lumix, retails for around $200 and is really fun to use :)

I couldn’t see a use case where I’d personally need more than 15 mins record time though… it’s not a camera for interviews and the form factor gives that away! If I turned up to a professional interview shoot with this, they’d probably laugh 😂 it’s the perfect social content camera though :) Quick turn around social content is really where it excels!

It kinda works for image transfer, at least i had no issue with it personally.. but that user made LUT library? This will literally step over Fuji in terms of JPG customization..
