Save your scrap to hotm 10 and max chisel. Some fossils require 0 mess ups with basic chisel and hotm 10 has a perk for higher chances. Hope this helps

tbh the fact theres fossil 'solvers' kinda upsets me its a huge advantage being able to easily get the fossils like that in my opinion

It’s really not. You can just throw up an image of every fossil pattern on another screen (or print them out) and when you get a fossil just dig it out according to the picture, youll have enough extra clicks to leave room for error to determine which it is. It’s not really any more of an advantage as having it out on paper

That appears to be a language difference after looking this up. The word’s origin is french, which is “peridoh” however the english (american) translation doesn’t omit the t, and is pronounced “peridot”. Neither are wrong, it’s just origin vs translated version. In my area it’s peridot.
