As a free-to-play player, you can earn the new heroes through hero challenges, they have their own sections and are kinda weird how easy they are e.g. for Kiriko you need to win 35 games + use kiriko's abilities in the practice range

I found the new silhouette icons accidentally last season, all locked without any explanation of what they were going to be for. I was really worried that those would be the only new rewards they were adding for season 3... but overall I am very happy with a lot of the cosmetics and how they have changed the monetization this season (still room for improvement, of course). If I had extra money I actually would want to spend it on some of this stuff.

I was genuinely ready for them to get rid of the smaller rewards in lieu of the free credits. Pleasantly surprised we get both! It's possible they had already made them before the credits change so we'll have to see if they keep this up over the next few seasons, but I imagine they'll keep it like this since now we're expectant.

Brute forcing the characters might be worth $10 to some, but it's really easy to unlock characters. You'll just have to spend a few minutes in the practice zone, then win 35 games as that role. For Ramattra, the wins in Season 2 carried over to Season 3. So I'm already like 20/35. Go QP and enjoy the vast choice of characters and pocket the $10 for a sandwich.

I’ve just noticed something. The currency you get from the battle pass cannot be used to purchase any legendary skins. The symbol for legacy credits is subtly different to the overwatch credits you need to use to buy the newly priced 1500 point skins. I could have sworn the devs said that they wanted people who complete the battle pass to have enough credits to get the one skin they wanted. That you earn 1500 credits, 2000 if you go premium, and you could use that to buy a skin from their back catalogue. This doesn’t seem to be the case. The most expensive thing you can buy currently is an epic skin for 300 legacy credits. Looks like someone has stuffed up.

I was so upset that another new character got the mythic skin… Then I saw the Season 3 content reveal trailer and realized how amazing the skin was! So I’m over it now. It’s a great skin and that’s enough for me. I hope the in future old characters can get some love!

Comparing Genji Devine Monkey skin on the gallery and on the trailer makes me think that Genji's foot on the trailer was glitched or the length of his foot changed on release.

They should add a random name generator for streamer mode on the server side. This way each game you play it gives you a rando name so people don't know it is you and then keep the client side stuff for your stream video.

To answer the title: "But is it worth the gathered currency of the last two seasons or 10 bucks? Thankfully not. Lets keep hoarding it until there finally is something worthwhile." But the passes get more and more interesting each time (obviously, as the market dictates) so hey, sooner or later! And the preview of each coming season before the current one ends also always allows for better decisionmaking on if to wait or buy.

I barely played S2 because of the lackluster rewards for the f2p players, might come back since you can actually get credits from the BP.

My issue with battle passes is that sometimes, like with this pass, I have so many other games I want to play/am playing that i quite literally dont have time to complete it.

I think season 2 battlepass was absolute ass, there was not a single cool skin that wouldve made it worth getting (that coming as a pure support main) I'm really excited for this one! The Kiriko and Moira skins are absolute great and some of the name cards are lovely too. (Also love that I was able to get the bee mercy skin "for free" since I had to get credits anyways)
