OMG, at 19:32 when you show the bike bottle for misting fluid and the holder I fell apart laughing. These are the kind of genius ideasl that will pass by 99% of engineers. I personally use a steel water bottle hung from my table frame below the control panel using a carabiner. I got that bottle from one of the job fairs at my university. That bottle was the best score from my experience with the corportate recruiters!

The HDM is a beast! I also have a good chunk of SMW workholding gear on the way. I've already tossed a couple of aluminum chunks across the shop trying to make-do with workholding. Watching it cut aluminum at 200 IPM is fun.

Thank you! Nice review of the HDM and good luck with a great cabinet. Seems like the controller board is the same as on the Pro. Excited to se the next video and how much noice is being pushed through the table. I have put some rubber dampers under my Shapeoko Pro, and with great success.

Beautiful. I choose to go with the pcnc440 but the HDM is very nice, especially with your setup.

Nicely done. Very impressed with the enclosure, are you going to offer the plans for it? It'd be convenient to have the sheet plan i can just pass onto a mill locally.

Good job! I use polycarbonate instead acryl. Acryl breacks easily, also polycarbonate you can bend on metal bender machine. It is unbreakable.

Would the poly cause a white line where the bend is?

Cast acrylic was manageable just need a lot of even heat

I would generally prefer to use LEXAN Margard because it is perfect for a shop environment, being durable and mar resistant. That said, a 48" x 96" sheet of 1/4" (0.220" actual thickness) MR10 is a bit over $1,000 US vs. under $200 for plain Polycarbonate. Taxes are not included in the prices. I've used the Margard in harsh environments and not one panel has needed to be replaced in 20+ years of daily use. The cuts and scratches in the outer surface remain transparent. However, for a home shop I'd create a real problem with my better half if I spent over $1,100 US (est. taxes included) on a sheet of Margard.

I have a 4XXL that I have been incredibly happy with it. Their support is top notch too; Will is amazing. Now I need to get better at using CAM in Fusion 360, for some reason it is not clicking with me at all.

Are you using the 1.5 or 2.2kw? im tyring to find out if my 250v welding socket is going to be too much for the vfd.

What comparisons could you draw between the Evo One Pro and the HDM ignoring their differences in working areas.

the hdm has a stronger spindle, and stronger motors, the hdm is in a larger class of machine and isn't really a fair comparison. comparing the evo-one pro to every other machine that has the same or smaller milling volume , it wins hands down. ;)

Great video im currently building a cnc router and there's alot of conflicting info out there im close to mounting my vfd some people say put in separate enclosure because of emi is this true? also the power cables for the motor that run through the drag chain everyone says run separate from stepper cables which all sounds like a pain but I notice this machine does both of those things

It really depends on the wire shielding used in your setup. Vfds can produce emi but shielded multi conductor wires should prevent any side effects.

Baltic birch plywood was expensive -$250 for two sheets. Acrylic was -$75 I found a job shop to mill the parts which was another $200

that is a nice machine, though the price is a little steep.. Langmuir Systems just released their MR-1 model and claim it cuts even titanium for the same price range. I wish someone could make a comparison between the two.

yes, and thats before you upgrade the machine with an enclosure, new plates, a probe, etc, etc... I've been watching the MR-1 it seems like a nice machine, a little more complete package than the HDM... carbide motion software and the controller is very limited for the HDM, I'd say this machine is for a different class of users that what they seem to be catering to in their marketing these days. and that leaves you wanting more... the MR-1 on the other hand has some concerns as well, RPM limited to 8k, table area fixturing flexibility, open ball screws, to name a few.
