We test the all-new Itineo Nomad CM660, a compact A-class motorhome from the Rapido Group. It has an island bed and a drop-down bed, as well as a very keen price, and is built on a Peugeot Boxer. But is it good enough to impress our reviewer?

Thanks Pete, I think this new Itineo range is a bit of a game changer especially as the price of the Pegaso's has creeped up significantly. Impressed with the shower room, a few techy high end additions & exceptional payload for 3500kg. Fully loaded on a Fiat 9 speed for under £75k... Love it!

I'd decided on buying a kemerton XL, then saw this Itineo advertised in camping and caravaning which led me here. DECISIONS!! Just the 2 of us. No microwave, Low down oven are the only 2 downsides. Loving the fixed bed and garage space.

Those are two very, very different 'vans. If you like the Kemerton, I'd also watch our review of the Murvi Pimento XL - kzfaq.info/get/bejne/mMx4daZ83M2toqc.html A microwave could always be a carried separately (in the garage) in the Itineo but do you really need one? It can only be used on campsites... Without a garage (or other exterior locker) where will you carry your barbecue, outdoor chairs, etc? Will you be going away for long periods, making up a bed every night? Or, if you like Auto-Sleepers' style, how about a Kingham? Decisions, decisions...

Interesting review Peter. Just sold our Chausson, mainly because the interior rattles spoiled the travelling experience ie drove me nuts! I put that down to flimsy build quality and electric drop down beds moving on the inadequate plastic runners. So I was interested to hear you say the Itineo pull down bed didn't rattle on the move but there was other "conversion" noise? From the cabinets perhaps? I've been looking at smaller A class, such as Dethleffs Globebus and Hymer so the Itineo may be a less expensive alternative....if not too rattly!
@MotorhomeCampervan
@MotorhomeCampervan 2 жыл бұрын
There was some conversion noise, but not much. If you really want to avoid conversion noise altogether, I'd look at something based on a Ford or Mercedes (softer ride means less rattles) and, possibly, look at a large van conversion rather than a coachbuilt.

@@MotorhomeCampervan I didn't say it wasn't a good price compared to others. I said it's too much for me. There are lots of people buying today, but they are still the minority because middle and lower middle class and poor cannot even comprehend the money people pay for these, buses, and ridiculously large trailers. They are products for conspicuous consumption of the better off. Most of us are just trying to maintain a home or pay rent and vehicles to go to work and to eat, not for frivolously expensive toys. I have a trailer that fits my needs, not my fancies, which I bought new for $19K three years ago. It now sells for almost $40K new. I'm sure many would not be able to afford that either. So I'm not against RVing, just against the extravagance and waste of so many, and I could not afford an $80K RV.

@@MotorhomeCampervan Since you ask. The fit and finish under the bonnet, bonnet catch is fitted upside down, small windows, garage not tall enough, and compromised by the bed anyway, how long before that stops working, very awkward to change the gas cylinders, no spare wheel, okay if you get a flat near a big town, terrible if you're out in the wilds. no blind spot mirrors, no electric windows, you do make reference to the noise, it's way beyond time that we had coil springs instead of ancient cart springs or even airbags as standard. The wipers should be triple as it is a bespoke cab, not a steel van cab where this would be difficult. the lounge area is tiny, nowhere to stretch out, we don't want to sit in the cab seats we've been in all day every day. storage space also looks a bit small too, seats for rear passengers look to be too upright for comfort and where do the cushion and ply go? The fridge is a good size but I hate that you have to lose the cool out of the fridge when you go into the freezer, the doors used to be separate which made sense, also not many shelves in the fridge or on the fridge door, room for at least two more mini shelves there. no grill? senseless. silly wire shelf above the sink lid, just waiting for sporty spice to bounce out and smash the lid. looks like anything in the bathroom cabinets will be on the floor when you open them on site, (did like the tap) too much hassle to have a shower for me, and a rubbishy tray as you mentioned. you can't sit up in bed to read or have your first drink of the day as the cupboards are too low and the shelf? and lights are where your head would be anyway. cab curtains were ok but should simply overlap as we all know Velcro over time stops working and gets bits of fluff on it. drop down bed too small and claustrophobic, not keen on all the LED strip lighting, too in your face for me, pointless under cupboard shelves in kitchen/lounge.
