Bow is easy to craft and arrows are the most silent projectiles if it doesn’t take up to much space I can see people using it to roam and not drag to much attention to themselves can’t tell you how many people got killed because I heard their mk2 from the other side of the city

I literally just started playing a couple weeks ago and was confused then bummed when I could only make a fishing pole with a long stick and rope.

​@RangerLifts you can make a couple of things but nothing too cool. You can make all your kits, a shelter only needs 4 long sticks and 50 short sticks which you can get 3 of from long sticks. The shelter has about 150 storage

Yeah, many things removed in .63 are still in the game files. Removing them completely from the game files is usually done several patches before they replace it with a new version.

The new update in 2 months is going to be snowy island map called Frostline, it will most likely include this Bow aswell.

@dougsbackpack1529 The video talks about a bow existing previously. However, this bow will still be a brand new weapon. It will not be the same bow with new animations. That's not how the dev team works, and bows even have an entirely new projectile system now, which they built from scratch. It's not even the same game engine. They're now using Enfusion, so it's almost completely impossible to readd most things just with new animations. Nothing about this version will have been in the game before, it's completely new. But that's moot anyway. It was removed in .63 which was DayZ Standalone and not DayZ. They're different things. Technically, no bow has ever been in DayZ as we know it, and it definitely hasn't been in the console version. So what I said is factually correct whatever way you look at it =]
