That's the most fun I have watching SF6, tbh. That's why I find matches of people like Snake Eyez owning high-tier characters with Gief so amusing. It is such a high level of expertise being shown by these players that, more often than not, their fundamentals and reactions are much better than those of the others, so no matter which characters they are playing, they always seem to have the upper hand.

@@k00LTV agree! Watching Broski give mena good work at Kumite was one of the best watches for me and I’m a big mena fan. The lines between the tiers are blurrier than most fighting games in SF6 and it’s great. I think most times we can always count on skill expression of the player outperforming the power of the character.

@@Dev_Astral Less focus on footsies and less interesting combos. Di is a great example of something that distracts from the actual fighting imo, it's something you can get a lot of mileage out of at low level but is used infrequently otherwise and yet you still have to be ready for it at all times. Even if you are ready it can still turn the battle unexpectedly. As for combos, they are kind of what got me into SF4 to start with so it's sad to see them increasingly become meaningless and oversimplified to make them more friendly to new players. There are a few flashy combos still but none of them are really useful or worthwhile. Overall there's just more RNG in the game to offset the skill gap that existed before and you can feel it.

So do you need to do an invincible reversal to get out of it ? Or only invincible super gets you out

​@@problemsnearyou8899 you can jump, back dash or do any invincible move but pressing buttons is not an option, I labbed a lot of situations like that to stop people from mashing

@@problemsnearyou8899 There's no real safest option per se. A backdash will get beaten if the Manon goes for a button instead of a command grab and you'll eat a combo, and if you jump they can still anti air you in time. Her anti air forces a knockdown and its sort of a guess again. I learnt how to deal with Manon when I took her to Master and you just have to make a read/guess based on what the situation is and what can net you the least damage. Remember that the Manon also has to guess that you wont jump/backdash/super/OD DP. But experienced grapplers will usually check with buttons first to see your habits and then hit you with the grab when you least expect it.

Knowing when to command grab with grapplers is a skill in itself

@@Yoloslides grappler have unbeatable offence, their issue is always defence. If you have good defence as grappler then you have high chance to win. I think that is why zangeif, jamie and manon are seen as bad characters. they require you to be really good at defence to have create opening for grapples.

Rashid and AKI looked meh until Rashid won a premier and people started seeing AKI’s potential through Hikaru ans Broski. Sometimes a really good player is what it takes to reconsider approaches

Or, like the most of us, they play online because its convenient. Akutagawa does have tournament history against some of the strongest SF players of all time. Look up 2014 Topanga B League, he played Dudley back in usf4
