In this episode, we welcome Vasily to the shop. He is no stranger to the team here, but in this video, we go over his pro am audi build. Vasily and the guys at TSH Auto are building this crazy Audi A5 into a pro level drift car. They shoved a VR6 out of a Volkswagen and slapped a big turbo on it. This thing is going to be ROWDY!

I've always like the looks of these. Kind of disappointed it doesn't have the V8 but it's just cool to see a drift car that's not an S chassis, Z, or 3 series.

You should swap the 4.0l Audi twin turbo into it. Still keeping an Audi engine while having more than enough power/tuning potential for the build. There’s a guy on KZfaq who has swapped the Audi v10 into his s4 and also 4.0t swapped his other s4. He’d likely be able to assist you with the swap.

This is what I miss most about the early day drift scene when people would think outside the box and build different cars with different engines and just see what happens. FD is just boring these days because of everything being the same. At the rate we are going - everyone in FD will be driving RTR mustangs.

This is not the first one vr6 a5 drift car, there is one in Sweden, it was build a few years ago. 2019 I guess.

Yes, we saw it. But Formula Drift rules are a bit different, so you can't replace the subframe with Supra one. That's why we are working on a proper angle kit.

@@TSHauto r32 engine is 3k euros. tt rs is 10k + it's open deck so another 5k for sleeving to get reliable 600+ hp

@eestlanebootysweat7572 Mayne in Europe. Here r32 engine is 800usd and TTRS is 13k-25k depending on condition. And you don't need to buy r32 engine it is from 2004 Touareg. Because early models of Touareg had forged crankshaft

Wanna see it actually drift before proclaiming it the best, or even suitable. But with that much tubular steel, literally any crap chassis will work. That era audi is ugly as hell, but as long as it drives well, who cares.

well something new interesting but wont be much good from technical stand point - heavy chassis and bad weight distribution, fun to drive yes

It weight same as e92 in stock form. And weight distribution about the same. People drives e92 look at eurofighters

@@TSHauto well e92 has same dimension as e34 which is very big, even J.Dean uses e92 only for shows as its not good enough for main competition, all never chassis are big and lardy unfortunately cant beat old jap stuff

@jankesbmw rtr mustang is big, g35s is bigger, if you will check wheel base it is not fat from many cars. If we will speak about prospec cats then there is e92. And in pro look at Kristaps how he drives his e92

@@jankesbmw enough for whatever tires he run. We are building for prospec and car can not be lighter then 2900lb for 255 tire. And that's the only option. We are going to be at 2900 plus driver. We have few places where we can cut down weight
