I could see Blackbeard's rise to being Pirate King being completely unrelated to Laugh Tale and the One Piece. Some kind of power move where he kills Shanks and maybe gets his hands on an Ancient Weapon or something. So some other world shaking event that then leads him to being crowned the Pirate King by Morgans or the World Government. However while that is happening, Luffy and maybe even Buggy arrive at Laugh Tale and find the One Piece, resulting in one of them being the Pirate King. So we get this situation where we have Luffy who is the heir crowned king by following in Roger's footsteps and then we have the Usurper King, Blackbeard who took the title by force

I think Buggy’s character arc will culminate in denying credit for becoming Pirate King. I’m imagining a situation where all four Yonko are on Laughtale and Blackbeard has killed Shanks, so Luffy punch-fights Blackbeard and wins, but he is mistaken for Buggy and the Cross Guild crew are about to spread the word that Buggy defeated Blackbeard and took the title. However, even with the entire world in his grasp, Buggy points in Luffy’s direction and says he’s gonna pass it to the next generation. Cross Guild then prints Pirate King posters for Luffy that they would have printed for Buggy. I can seriously see this happening.

I need to see the hilarious back and forth between Buggy and Usopp, Usopp uses his usual "I have over 1 million followers" or whatever that's at now, causing Buggy to do an Enel Face with internal dialogue, followed by Buggy snapping back with his own immense boast, leading Usopp to do an Enel Face with internal dialogue, and it's just a back and forth of boasts and freakouts, that would be amazing to see

i always had the thought blackbeard would be king of the pirates briefly because he wants to be king of the world and it seems like a step to reach his goal

Plot twist: it isn’t Aokiji who is one whole cake island but Mr 3 who was sent by Buggy for his kingly plans

My personal theory is that buggy will be present at the final war and will be present for some great battle and get knocked out, likely by conqueror's haki. His crew will believe he died saving luffy's life, and entrusting his dream to luffy just like shanks did with rogers straw hat. His crew will help luffy, in memory of their great captain. Only for him to wake up after the battle and escape to become a small time pirate again, as his bounty would disappear with his "death." His crew will remember him as a god of the pirates, finally and truly fulfilling his statement all the way back in orange town, as he mocked luffy's dream of becoming pirate king.

It would be cool if Oda foreshadowed buggy being the pirate king, during the One piece arc with the Mayor and small dog guarding the pet store. Buggy said to luffy that "if luffy was going to be the pirate king than he would be a pirate god". Oda could potentially reverse Buggy's statement with him becoming a pirate god and have Buggy become the pirate king instead.

As of yesterday, I can't get the idea out of my head of Blackbeard reaching Laughtale and not laughing.

What if the dark timeline came about as a result of Blackbeard's devil fruit sucking the hopes and dreams from the Strawhats? It would be fitting with it being the dark timeline.

This works out brilliantly. Luffy is still just enjoying his adventure, one of the Yonkou or not. The way to make him actually care about that world stage, would be if someone else were to declare themselves Pirate King and then make a mockery of Luffy's ideals while doing it. That'll get him sufficiently riled up to play an active part, I'm sure.

Now that's big mom and Peros out of the picture not that he was ever going to be in the way, Katakuri is basically inheriting big moms empire. So now with his sister being kidnapped I wonder does he try to rally the rest of his family and empire and try to save her himself? Or ask for help and try to make an alliance with say Luffy to save pudding. Since Katakuri isn't an emperor's level yet, I definitely think he'll get there like if he gets advanced armament and conquerors Haki and just do a little bit more work on his durability he definitely would be. I think he will get advanced Haki and push himself towards emperor level, if nothing else then to protect his family and the people of Totto land. That's not too far fetched to see the straw hats making alliance with the big mom pirates giving their history with pudding, although seeing how things are now I guess they're more likely going to be renamed the Charlotte pirates than they could get rid of that awful jolly roger with the skull on Katakuri arm and back of his vest.

7:32 PAUSE 😅😅 But seriously, I'm surprised you didn't bring up the Year of 5 Emperors. There was a time where 5 people became Emperor of Rome, and if we put that into One Piece context this could be 5 Pirate Kings. It also began with someone who started their political career in Africa (possible link to BB as Oda said he would be Somalian I think). The first of the 5 Emperors was also killed by his own men following a dispute over their pay, also something the BB pirates are most likely to do to their captain of all the crews. The actual history features a lot of interesting things that could be added to the story: bribing armies, temporary alliances and a race to Rome.

Plot Twist: The five elder stars were what happened when five people found the one piece at the same time.

I think Blackbeard becoming the pirate king and stealing Luffys dream from under him would be the most likely way we see a Gear Reverse, like you mentioned before. Luffy loses his dream and his powers change from a goofy, light hearted cartoon god to being a dark, aggressive and vengeful god. It would be an interesting concept imo

I couldn't imagine someone else becoming Pirate King before Luffy. It would make his rise to position feel like sloppy seconds, especially if it was after Blackbeard. Naruto had gotten away with something similar, having Kakashi become Hokage for a while before Naruto, but that narrative wouldn't work with One Piece.

I think Buggy will be the next pirate king. He will probably do the opposite of Roger, so he will arrive late at Laughtale. By the time Buggy arrives, Luffy has defeated Blackbeard but the StrawHats are nowhere to be seen, since they are already preparing to go to their next destination the moon. Since the launching of the (rocket)ship will be caused by an enormous artifical knock up stream Morgans will find Laughtale, only to find Buggy there with the defeated Blackbeard crew. Crowning Buggy the new pirate king a title i suspect Buggy will gladly relinquish to Luffy during the final war with the world goverment. Laughtale's theme = a joke. It's been foreshadowed by multiple jokes and is probably the culmination of these. So Buggy becoming pirate king is the culmination of his joke, the foreshadowing for Laughtale started with the epic clash between 2 current Yonko. (Luffy kicking Buggy in the nuts) So it's only fitting that a clown that is ment to make people laugh, makes people laugh by becoming the greatest.

What if luffy doesn't actually become the pirate king,considering his reason for wanting it is that he wants to be free and the whole pirate kings business is a means to his true dream. What if there is another way to achieve said dream and freedom without being the pirate king?

I think the mantle of king will be too heavy and only Luffy will take it. I love the idea they will all fight for the one peace and when someone discovers it they will all stop fighting to freak out at some new info. They will probably not be willing to do the task or handle the drama thus it will fall to the man who takes on anything and everything. I think the story has done a lot to distance from the idea that the One Peace is the friends they made along the way and be more about the quality of friends made along the way. This will lead to a massive team up and unite under Luffy as the pirate king. Roger knew his life was going to end and he couldn't be the one to unite the free people to do the right thing so he died to inspire someone who could. I also believe that the emperors may have already gone and were lacking the Rogue PG's to get the full picture or the balls to accept the duty. It is likely Shanks is going there to wait for the one and be there to hail them in as the king. I also think Luffy will die to spawn the next pirate era same as roger.

Buggy vs God Usopp would be a great fight. Imagine them dissing each other and since their statements somehow always come true at some point, their disses might also happen on them.

The One Piece is actually the spell that contains the embodiment of the ocean that leads into Pirates of the Caribbean.

Thoery: Three blackbeards are acting individually in the manga right now… I think that since 3 blackbeard theory is so famous i thought of a possible situation that blackbeard we saw going against boa and the one who recently went to face law in chapter 1063 are two different blackbeards. I think there’s a possibility that blackbeard can detach himself into three people and go back to being three person in one body again. Cause, the crew members he went to in both the islands were completely different and the timeline of the both events were very near or almost same. I think we will again see blackbeard going against someone else with his remaining crew soon in few chapters which will be ofc the third blackbeard. I think oda intensely showed him with different crew member at both the places and the third place is coming soon. proof is that blackbeard in chapter 1059 has clearly 3 teeths missing while blackbeard in chapter 1063 is cleverly shown with only 2 teeths missing.

I'm still holding strong to my theory that Buggy will be the next pirate king but only on the public eye Assuming Shanks is dead/no longer an emperor when this happens, I believe Luffy/Teach could end up at laugh tale. When that happens, Big News Morgans finds out and is immediately determined to print that "a new pirate king is born". The government would be desperate for that news to not go out, however, knowing they cant really stop the birb man, they instead decided to strike up a deal. They'll let him announce a new pirate king, but they'll pick someone who'll be less of a problem for them than Luffy/Teach (Them both having that pesky D.) The next day, Buggy wakes up with his crew freaking out about the news that their captain was suddenly the new pirate king. After the shock, he'd probably roll with it and pretend he sneaked out during the night and casually reached laugh tale, as Buggy do

Now hear me out: Buggy bungling his way to Pirate King is hilarious, but what would be even more so would be if he was right within striking distance... Only to be hilariously derailed in the most humiliating way possible, his dream right in front of him only to be smacked back down to the D Tier Pirates once more. Defeated by God Usopp, who becomes a brave warrior of the sea by defeating an Emperor not on his own, and not through lying or tricks, but straight up defiance. For all the world to see.
