Nichijou did unfortunately got bad ratings in japan. Is not that the japanese disliked it (probably), but that it couldn't have had worst luck when it comes to timeslot. Nichijou shared a timeslot with nothing less than MAHOU SHOUJO MADOKA MAGICA of all fucking things. In the sea of anime, Nichijou was a Tiger Shark but Madoka Magica was an Orca; Nichijou was mighty in itself, but was still stuck in a hopeless match-up.

I found this video when it first came out and it inspired me to get the whole box set to complete the manga. I have just finished reading it and I am in absolute tears from the ending so thank you for the push! I will now watch this video LOL

There's no "real bloodshed" in Nichijou, even though there is, although it's just not ABOUT "bloodshed," so it just isn't going to get the lame shonen manga crowd. Also, a lot of the humor escapes a non-Japanese-language audience, although it's still funny in the absurdist nature of it. However, it takes someone with an active brain and patience to really get into it. Passive viewers wanting to be spoon-fed 100% of the content are going to get frustrated with Nichijou and give up. These are probably taken into consideration when the decision is made to not make successive Nichijou anime seasons. I'd love to see another season of it, but it's about as likely to happen as we'll get a third season of One Punch-Man before the Fall of 2023.

From time to time I see the translation for a game based in some kinda old anime drop, and now I just realized... That means they just finished. They have been all this time translating and just now finished. Damn.

Mio is honestly the one character I find a kinship with in all of manga because I not only draw BL and try to pray to God that my family won't ever find it, but I also have a temper on me that can flip like a switch if anything goes wrong. Now that I know she’s in City, my headcanon says that when we see her make cameos: we're seeing her as an adult living out her goals of being a BL mangaka that she wrote on the career goals paper that she has to talk about with Sakurai-Sensei.
