Opening in theaters and on VOD on July 13th!
After waking up in an apartment the night after a raging party, Sam comes face to face with his new reality: an army of zombies have invaded the streets of Paris and he is one of the lone survivors. Petrified with fear, he barricades himself inside the building to survive. He wonders how long can he last in silence and solitude, and the answer comes when he learns that he’s not all alone after all.

The Night Eats the World was a very original approach to the traditional zombie narrative. The film was casted beautifully, brilliantly written, and director Dominique Rocher did a great job setting the unique tone. The make-up and effects were terrific and terrifying as well, delivering what you would expect from a modern zombie flick, and then some. This movie is a must watch! Definitely recommend!

The movie was awful. not just the main characters but even the infected acted so stupid. Who needs guns in a apocalypse like this. Just throw a curtain over their head and it will diablo them. Forget the boarded up apartment complex that has food and water. Let hope over to the other apartment complex that's full of infected. Let me risk my life to save this cat just to shoot it five minutes later for literally no reason. Also I hope the infected love me being g as loud as possible every other day. I've never seen a movie where the main characters made the most dumbest decisions ever nothing and literally received nothing from it or how nothing was established at all. A entire apartment complex but not one TV or radio. No police or military intervention, no knowledge of how it spreads or how quickly. The family that got attacked in the beginning literally stopped screaming after a minute of the guy looking away as if the infected just killed all three of them immediately. This movie literally had me questioning why not only the characters but the infected acted so dumb. The cat was the only one in the movie that made any logical decision and that unfortunately got it killed by the same person it was smart enough to avoid. The infected literally ignoring him to walk into it's apartment made no sense at all. There was no actual bond between them..he literally had a verbal fit and threw water at the infected as if there was so e emotional argument going on. Guy was safe, had food, water, plenty of weapons and a gun yet left all of it behind just to hop over the roof of a apartment complex full of infected. It literally showed in the beginning that the family feeling to their car left it wide open. Talk about making the worse decision during a apocalypse

The Night Eats the World looks really original. I’m hoping it lives up to the hype; too many movies are content with being another “how do we defeat the undead” flick to clutter Netflix with. Can't wait to watch it when it comes out

Gotta love the part where he threw a curtain over a infected and it just didn't know what to do. The walking dead characters should have invested more time getting curtains and blankets to deal with the walkers over blades and guns. Apparently even highly aggressive running type of infected can't handle a curtain

This trailer totally gives the wrong impression. This is a slow paced psychological film. A zombie flick for thinkers. Ignore the haters on this one. To dumbasses 'cerebral' = boring. It's good. Well acted and scripted.

it's based on a french roman (book) of the same name. There's some funny ideas for zombies in France like the good, the bad and the zombies, a parody with zombies in the wild west... or GOAL OF THE DEAD.

The main characters literally made the most dumbest decisions. Ending is him stuck on a roof of a apartment complex full of infected when the apartment complex he was at was safe. The number of infected surrounding the area was his own fault and could have been dealt with in a quiet manner. Him settled off the fire alarm and having rage through the barricade was also his own fault. He was in a great position and completely ruined it making the dumbest decisions ever

This film is crap, literally so boring. A zombie film with literally no action or anything going on as a matter of fact. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. Film is a complete waste of time unless you enjoy watching paint dry.

I agree, these zombies also looks exactly like that one movie by that one guy in that one place,..... Point I'm making here is that it's a zombie movie,.... there's really not much more you can be different in. Unless you want the route of Warm Bodies, which was just a Romeo and Juliet story in itself. The days of originality are gone sadly.

I LOVED this film. Amazing performance by the lead actor. Totally believable. Tne synopsis on paper doesn't seem all that interesting because of the genre being beaten into the ground w/so many hacky cash grabs, and the viewer being isolated w/a single character throughout is the type of concept that could easily go off the rails , if the actor isn't able to keep people invested, or the environment doesn't feel like a real place etc. Even a decent actor could have dragged this film down.Imagine how this same film would be... starring Taylor Lautner, or if it was studio backed, starring Mark Wahlberg! It would be laughably bad w/a a "basic" actor. However, this guy Anders Danielson Lie, I think is his name.....a Norwegian actor that I had never seen before or even heard of..... absolutely crushes the role of Sam. He is totally believable and as we get deeper into the story, is the perfect avatar for the viewer. It becomes easy to feel for the dude, because of the fact that he isn't some hacky "Walking dead" character , that was a Baker before the outbreak, yet is somehow overpowered, proficient in all fireaems, one shot one killing hordes of zombies etc........this isn't that garbage! Sam is just some dude, that all of us have run into at some point in our lives. He has to problem solve and get things done, in a believable way. He does some dumb things here and there, but most would. His encounters w/the infected are more meaningful because they are a legitimate threat. The longer he is isolated, the worse you feel for him. You watch him start to break down in a realistic way. The hope spots have you genuinely hoping my dude can catch a break! This actor kept me invested and this was such a pleasant surprise and easily one of the best Z.A movies in quite some time! Also, why is this girl freaking out and upset there weren't Norwegian subtitles? I don't understand this at all. Everyone in the film spoke perfect English. The ONLY time Norwegian was spoken, was when Sam was listening to his old cassettes, hearing himself as a child, practicing , basically drumbeats and melodies w/his own voice etc., and you hear his Mother telling him to come to dinner?, Or something inconsequential like that, and he protests, then the then the tape ends! THAT is literally the only time it comes into play and it lasts 5 seconds! There weren't subtitles for that because it wasn't important to the story in any way, the entire situation infers as much, because you get the gist of things by his response etc. It is funny to me that she even cares about something so irrelevant. My takeaway is that listening to the tapes gives him comfort, being so alone makes the sound of his Mother's voice impactful, and his only respite from his situation is reminiscing about simpler times, when he still had a Norwegian accent etc and his only worry was music. I assumed his family immigrated to France from Norway at some point when he was very young. That's all. Maybe Rocher',the director also had this as an explanation in case Anders accent ever slipped into his dialogue. But there was nothing important in that dialogue.,imo This is the type of movie that many will consider watching,the many tines they are scrolling for something to watch, but end up passing by just because of the over saturation of the genre. Or the "Fast & the furious" fan groups will complain about because it isn't filmed by a director & crew on Ritalin, Adderall and meth, w/guns pointed at them. The "action" takes place when a situation that develops organically calls for it. Quite a novel approach these days Yet anyone who hasn't seen this or keeps scrolling by and are fans of horror, should definitely give this some well deserved attention!

I guess if you want the characters and infected to be r*tarded, yeah it's definitely different. Who needs guns or blades. Just grabs some blankets and curtains, throw it over there heads and they'll be renerded useless and confuse. Also be sure to shoot the cat you literally risked your life over to get and hop over to the apartment building without any weapons just to find out it's full of infected. Definitely making those big brain decisions leaving the barricaded apartment where you had plenty of food and water. .

This is just my opinion flame me if you want, but train to busan is overrated and isn't really "Innovate", it didn't bring any new aspect in the zombie genre. While Shaun of the Dead at least tried to do something new, it inserted comedy. What I also didn't like with the Train to Busan, I mean for a the sake of drama they had the father be bitten and infected by the old jerk. But when the group of men went to face off to the hoards of Zombies in one of the train carts none of them got infected and don't give the reason while they were wearing padding. Most of their body parts were exposed.

'REC' was, is, the odd movie out, in that those zombies were both human, but also demonically possessed, which gave that series a special unique scare to it.

It's originally a French book (roman) by Martin Page (who studied psychology and sociology etc), it's a unique roman, so probably no sequel, also it was a small budget movie. If you want the resumé of the book translated : For a long time, man has demonstrated his decadence and cruelty. Today, he has gone one step further in his abomination: he has become an anthropophagous monster. Faced with this nightmare, like Robinson on his island, the young survivor organizes himself. He lives in an apartment and thinks he's safe for a while, despite repeated attacks by the undead. But the madness of this new world causes his own sanity to falter. To escape despair, he relearns to live and fight. Armed with a rifle, he is surprised to discover that he can kill, and that he even has a talent for it. As he re-examines his past, he also indulges in a sensitive introspection on his own condition and the reasons for his past failures. It is his maladjustment to human society that perhaps explains his survival at the end of the world. An action-packed, literary and psychological novel that takes the codes of the genre and subverts them.

And that's generally the shared opinion; however, it fell towards the second half which was unfortunate because it had so much potential. As for Train to Busan, that movie was quite good and in fact one of the best zombie films of all time, but I didn't come close to crying lmao.

He literally spent most of the movie attracting the infected for literally no reason besides bordem he should have focus on wiping them out
