Flashback to Halloween night 1978. The night it all started. The night he came home.
From Halloween Kills (2021): The nightmare isn't over as unstoppable killer Michael Myers escapes from Laurie Strode's trap to continue his ritual bloodbath. Injured and taken to the hospital, Laurie reunites with Tommy Doyle, the boy she was babysitting on the night Michael began his reign of terror. As Laurie continues to fight through the pain, Tommy leads an angry mob of vigilantes to rise up against Myers and destroy the evil once and for all.

People hate on this movie because it wasn't another Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis) vs. Michael Myers which we've seen couple times before. No, people RIGHTFULLY hate on this movie because the writing and dialogue SUCKS! There's not creativity and originality with modern day writers. I'm now DEFINITELY convinced this is true by listening to the train wreck they did on the horror video game "The Quarry." The dialogue LIKE HK is completely cliched and so cringey you'd think a foreign 6yo wrote it. It's like someone from another country's interpretation of how Americans speak to each other rather than how we actually communicate with one another. And all that, "EVIL DIES TONIGHT" chants was just embarrassing. THAT'S why rations people hate on this movie. I personally didn't have to see a Michael vs Laurie. Seen it before. We'll see it again.

@@wadewilson8011 Okay...why be so intense about it? If the dialogue is the only complain and the writing (let's be honest all the halloween movies are the same with different characters here or there with different kills) then maybe the series isn't for you. Like all classic horror movies, even ones today, there's flaws in the movie but people still enjoy them. You don't have to be so intense in your hatred. @@ivoryice5545 well there you go. John Carpenter (the same guy who created the original Halloween) remade a movie called The Thing in 1982. It was a remake of a 1951 movie called "The Thing From Another World." About and Alien crash landing on Earth and killing people. In 2011 there was a prequel made about events that happened BEFORE the events from the 1982 movie. There's a scene in the original '82 version where they find an axe stuck in a wall. In the 2011 prequel, they show you HOW the axe got there in the first place. Consider the entire 2011 movie a flashback to events that happened before the original '82 movie. So yeah, I wasn't too surprised that they paid attention to details in this movie. At least to subtle things like that broken window, and what caused it.

It really felt like a movie shot in the 70s with better film texture quality but still had that kinda roll-film based filming filter over it. Also the camera angles and shots the close ups when zooming in on characters truly felt like it was set in the 70s along with the cars and officer revolver horror trope. I always noticed in a lot of horror movies the officers seem to always carry revolvers guess to have the you’re out of ammo impending doom stereotype .

5:05 Pay close attention to how Officer McCabe’s demeanor changes when he sees the window. He has a moment of realization that it’s the window Michael looked out of, But his eyes suddenly glaze over and he starts walking almost zombie-like toward the window, as if he’s in a trance. Even when he’s talking to himself before Michael’s attack, he seems very distant and disoriented, Kind of Reminiscent of the trance people went into in The Happening, Where they’d start repeating things they’d already said. Which all lends credence to the theory that the window, or whatever is outside of it is playing some kind of role in Michael’s behavior. This last part is probably me looking too deep, but it seems bizarre that McCabe was casually repeating the line he said earlier to himself. Its as if the window, or whatever force is there, mentally stunts the person looking out of it, tethering them to a single moment in their lives, not allowing them to leave it.

In the teaser trailer for Halloween 2018, it was hinted that Michael Myers was arrested and taken back to the asylum following his killing spree on Halloween night in 1978. This flashback scene was filmed so that we could see exactly how that happened. Think about that for a while, then give your opinion.

The thing about Michael is you were never quite sure if he was human or something more, at least in the original film. Like Jason Voorhees for example, or Freddy Krueger or Chucky or so many other scary movie antagonists, it was clear they were beyond human. But Michael Myers? The way he acted may have been inhuman but everything he did, from the way he moved to the way he got hurt and reacted to so many other aspects, he seemed like just a dude in a mask. But there was always that air of mystery; that paranormal essence around him.
