But he surprised everyone with cycle. He uses this cycle for daily use. Many of his colleague got diseases like blood sugar, spondylosis. We only have one scooty & 2cycles in our family. Cycling & walking has health benefits.

Being a pedestrian or riding a bicycle is the most dangerous way to commute on Indian roads. In Bangalore there are no zebra crossings anymore. You literally have to spot an opening somewhere and sprint across and hope. No one is going to slow down for you. Footpaths are occupied by the shops or are used for car parking or are broken altogether.

Bro this video shook my mind.😮 I was in confusion for many days whether I should buy a car or not, how much expensive should I buy.😢 But it was also felt that having so much investment in buying a car is worthless. I can invest even more. like travelling, in my business, or even more. I understood everything after watching this video.😢 You will not believe that now I have canceled the plan to buy a car(My dream Thar). But now i feel it is just a dream due to having a baukaal in my society and i am investing this much money but now i am cleared. If i really need to buy I will buy a second hand car 🚗 only for long distance travelling.😊

15 minute city is an amazing concept. If everything can be available at a walking distance of 10-15 minutes, then that would be really amazing. When you won't have any requirement of using a car, you'd eventually not own a car. Subsequently you're gonna be much healthier.

Nice dream but try making Delhi a 15 minute city. Not only is it impossible, even if you did achieve it, r*pes, pickpockets, robberies, etc., will skyrocket like no tomorrow. The main argument for private transport in this country is safety, not convenience.

@dhruvrathee One thing which I want to highlight is that everyone mostly travel for work , if government make sure that offices and business parkers are developed in suburban area this will reduce the pressure on cities where most of the people travel and come from suburban areas. In suburban area we have lot of space . I travel from Ambernath to Marol approx 50 km and 2-3 hours traveling in peak hours . Since we dont have any job nearby we have to travel to mumbai for the same.

Problem is, we're addicted to cars as cocaine. Social media encourages car ownership as aspirational and, worst of all, rat race to own bigger car than what your neighbors have. And of course cheery on top is absence of a robust public transport in tier 2 cities. Automotive OEMs will resist any such move to curb car ownership, and our governments, whether federal or provincial, are driven by their selfish interests and not larger public good.

The smog would stick to my skin and every time I shampooed my hair the water would be black. Just absolutely terrible. (This was in Hyderabad, going from Tolichowki to Uppal). It was a big motivator to look for a job in HITEC where the commute wasn’t as terrible.

India, with its bustling cities and rapidly growing population, faces numerous challenges in managing its urban infrastructure. Among these challenges, traffic congestion stands out as a persistent problem plaguing cities across the country. While various factors contribute to the traffic woes, the rise of unregulated cab companies has emerged as a significant contributor to the gridlock choking India's roadways. The advent of ride-hailing services revolutionized urban transportation, offering convenience, affordability, and accessibility to millions of commuters. However, the proliferation of unregulated cab companies has also brought unintended consequences, exacerbating traffic congestion in Indian cities. One of the primary reasons for the traffic congestion caused by unregulated cab companies is the sheer volume of vehicles flooding the streets. With low barriers to entry and minimal regulation, these companies have rapidly expanded their fleets, flooding the roads with an ever-increasing number of cabs vying for passengers. The result is a crowded and chaotic urban landscape, where traffic jams are a daily ordeal for commuters. Moreover, the decentralized nature of many unregulated cab companies exacerbates the problem of traffic management. Unlike traditional taxi services, which are often regulated by local authorities, many ride-hailing platforms operate independently, with little oversight or coordination with city planners. This lack of centralized control makes it challenging to implement effective traffic management strategies, such as congestion pricing, lane restrictions, or public transportation incentives. Another contributing factor is the behavior of ride-hailing drivers, who may exacerbate traffic congestion through illegal parking, unauthorized stops, or reckless driving. In the quest to maximize earnings and satisfy customer demand, some drivers resort to tactics that disrupt traffic flow and exacerbate congestion. Without adequate regulation and enforcement mechanisms in place, these behaviors can become pervasive, further compounding the traffic woes. Furthermore, the reliance on ride-hailing services as a primary mode of transportation has led to a phenomenon known as "carmageddon," where the streets are clogged with empty or underutilized vehicles cruising in search of passengers. This inefficient use of road space not only exacerbates congestion but also contributes to pollution, wasted fuel, and increased emissions, further exacerbating environmental concerns in Indian cities. Addressing the traffic congestion caused by unregulated cab companies requires a multifaceted approach that combines regulatory reforms, technological innovations, and public awareness campaigns. Local governments must take proactive steps to regulate ride-hailing services, imposing limits on fleet sizes, implementing congestion pricing schemes, and incentivizing shared rides and public transportation alternatives. Additionally, ride-hailing companies themselves must play a more responsible role in managing traffic congestion, by investing in technology solutions that optimize driver routes, reduce deadheading, and promote efficient use of vehicles. Collaborating with city authorities to share data and insights can also help identify hotspots of congestion and develop targeted interventions to alleviate traffic woes. Moreover, public awareness campaigns aimed at promoting sustainable transportation habits, such as walking, cycling, carpooling, and the use of public transit, can help reduce reliance on ride-hailing services and alleviate congestion on the roads.

@@marutipropertieslucknow population is the problem but the thing is that you cannot control the population in 5 or even 10 years but the number of cars can be reduced in a span of 2 to 3 years. Now I am not saying that population should not be controlled but controlling population takes a lot more time so until the population is under control we can reduce down the number of cars on the street or we can make laws so that on an average a person can drive their car only 2 to 3 times a week and when the population is under control we can make car usage normal.

@AjiteshBharat population is the problem. But the thing is that most of the space of the road is occupied by cars and those cars are owned only a small percentage families. Even many 4 members' family own 2 or 3 cars. So population is a headache for traffic but car is the root cause...

The reason people chose to get their own vehicle and daily drive to their workplace is not for show off, they are forced to do so. People who can drive their car to office everyday are well off and demand clean n faster transport system. Our public transport systems are unclean and they are not punctual. Another way is to tax families with more than one car. Implement peak time tolls on certain sections of the city for eg 8-10 in the morning where everyone goes to office or school.

Here goverment gives free bicycles to public so people use more cycles and get healthy. The car prices are increased by 18% so its difficult to have cars so here in spain we are very well i hope in developing country also happens this

A straightforward approach to address this problem would be for the government to offer a 50% subsidy on petrol or a 60% subsidy on electric vehicle (EV) purchases for taxi companies, contingent upon their performance and regular review. Such a measure would likely lead to 99% of the public opting for more affordable and comfortable transportation options. However, the success of this initiative depends entirely on collaborative efforts between companies and political parties to prioritize the longevity and enhancement of the country's infrastructure, rather than solely focusing on profiting from car sales

Speaking of highways, I remembered one of the highways in Seoul, South Korea had covered the streams called Cheonggyecheon and now restored into beautiful streams with side pedestrians. The government and its people go hand-in-hand to make their country/city livable for generations. Just fyi. Peace.

You forgot to mention one very imp benefit of walking/cycling which is health. Although India is a hot country so few solutions you mentioned are difficult to follow here but still a really good topic that needs people's attention 👍

Absolutely perfect solution. But here the mentality & feeling proud having a metal box with 4 wheels has become success symbol. Well this topic is debatable rather than resolution for better living without pollution or pollution free country. Cities & states have become crowded & irresponsible to get control over this issue currently. Hope in next few years the awareness & importance of this issue each govt will consider & get concrete solution.👍

I live in kolkata and yes you are damn correct about it I face such problems everyday 1. I live in flat and there are not much people but nearly every family owns a car and most of the time cars just parked in garage and takes soo much space i find it hard to even bring my 2 wheeler out and in everyday. 2. The car owners think that they have right to park wherever they want and as a result even short lane roads became even more short and congested 3. My usual driving hours are at 4 am and night which is mostly dusk and these dumb people with high fi headlights even at small gully roads put it at high beams even 2 wheelers bus and trucks 4. Here in kolkata there used to be lot of trams but due to increased use of these cars they are slowly decreasing and vanishing what left are just the rail lines of trams now in most places 5. Don't get me started about pollution damn soo much smokes and every dumb driver dunno what they have with horn even in red light they keep poppin the horns and if the green light comes then the horn intensifies instead of dying down as yeah all will go just wait a bit but noo!!!! 6. There exists no concept of lane rules all they do is just cut inbetween with nothing to make us aware of and specially the auto drivers they are the worst and most dumbest drivers ever seen. In conclusion I would say yes I also want the cars banned even when my family friends and all say bring your bike and all I just straight away refuse and advise to travel by bus 7th also the bus system is also bad along with train all late and all over crowding and less availability

I think government should increase the price of fuel cars and decrease the price of public transport is also a good decision. Also iff government can free the public transportation it also helps. And last, If this video shown in televisions and at public places can also change people's mindset. I love this Channel because it really gives us a proper knowledge how to live.
