Hello Ladies & Gentlemen and as always, thank you for watching!!! I hope my viewers are enjoying the new 4K videos!!! Today, I take our flagship Peterbilt 389-X, Miller Industries, Century 1150R heavy rotator towing and recovery unit on a LONG journey....to our parking lot, to unload and unusual "container". When the job was called in, we were told that we were supposed to unload a 20' long sea container (conex) box which was loaded with household goods and weighed less than 12,000 lbs (5443 kgs). Upon its arrival we find that this is NOT a standard shipping container and we will have to change our plans. There is also no way to no for certain how much the box weighs or what it's COG (Center Of Gravity) is. That is, until we lift it and find that it weighs almost 20,000 lbs (9072 kgs), not the 12,000 lbs we were told it would or should be. This may seem simple, but one wrong calculation or one incorrect rigging point and we could lose the whole thing. What is going to happen? I hope you all enjoy this video!!! Thanks for watching and God bless!!!

Again, a very special thank you to all my viewers, family, and friends who having taken the time to show their support. May God bless and protect you all!!!

You need a special "bopper" tool to remind Gavin every time he doesn't have his hardhat on. Just give him a gentle "bop" on the head before he hits it on something harder. 🤣

It is a storage unit. I delivered these types of units. You went through the trouble of lifting when you could have just used your rollback. It would have rolled off the truck. This is how we loaded and unloaded them with a rollback. People use these because there cheaper the going to a storage place far from home. There easier with moving also. You can move you stuff and not have to hurry and unload. Keep it until your done or have the monthly fee like any other storage units.

Did you see the video of the car hitting the down ramp of the tray truck, at speed? Apparently didn't notice them working on an accident on the highway. Apparently it was in Florida. Video released yesterday. That one was hairy. If the container wasn't loaded evenly, it could have caused more trouble. By the way, love watching your video's, from Victoria Australia. Don't miss one. Great start to the weekend.

In my mind I imagined you using both spreader bars, one for each line so that you can control the container better. I don't remember you using both in a video or maybe I did not pay attention. I know it is extra setup time, but might be faster to lift.

🌟 With all those slings, you need better organization. How about getting some mesh bags that cinch shut and place each length of sling into one bag with a label. So when needing two 20 foot slings, all you need to do is grab the 20 foot bag and not sort through half of the inventory!

Hery Ron, some very important info for you. i was watching an RV recovery on another channel and i wanted to share some info for your safety. RV's these days are being equipped with much higher battery capacities than in the past and many will have converters that supply 120 VAC(household power) throughout the RV even while on road. There also may be solar panels on the roof supplying power to the RV after you have disconnected the batteries or the batteries have been destroyed in an accident. the solar panels my still be supplying power to the dc- ac converter which can still supply that 120 VAC throughout the RV. this can all be a concern in a catastrophic accident where you maybe cutting wires and picking up pieces of the RV Be careful out there!

To me the twist was created by the 2 20 footers being uneven, by which I mean the ends coming up from each fork pocket were different lengths causing each side to be more of a scalene than an isosceles triangle. Would you agree Ron? As always, a well executed job, with the expectation that it may not be what you were told, re CoG and weight. It seems to be human nature when loading stuff by hand into a big box or container, to deal with the heavy stuff first,. If it has to be by hand, then they should put the heavy stuff in a strip nose to tail down the centre and the lighter stuff on either side and then the lightest on top of all that stuff. If load bracers are available, the heavy stuff could be put 1/2 in the nose, 1/2 on the tail. Either way it could have been, you guys didd a good job of dealing with what you found in any case.
