I got to meet him at a book signing in Greensboro North Carolina. 1999 My mom was a fan first and I got her a signed copy of The Notebook and a picture. Since then our entire family have become fans. YES!! Rachel McAdams played Regina George in Mean Girls, AND she filmed both of those movies (Mean Girls and The Notebook) in the SAME YEAR!!! So I had to laugh when BJ said she looked older, it was just simply the styling of the older clothing styles, and hairdo's of the time that made her seem older in this than she was in Mean Girls. I'm only at the beginning of your reaction now but I didn't see anyone else mention this fact in the comments so I just HAD to tell you! lol.

I read the book when it first came out. Got home from work and got in a bubble bath and read the entire book, I couldn’t put it down. I kept adding hot water when it got cold. After a few hours my husband got worried and came in the bathroom to check on me-and there I was, skin wrinkled and mascara all over my face because I had ugly cried so much-he panicked thinking something bad had happened and when I told him something bad HAD happened, ‘Allie forgot Noah’ he got this confused look on his face…..’who the hell are Allie and Noah?’ He held me and wiped my tears away and later told me I looked like Alice Cooper with all my mascara smudged all over my face-to this day when cry over something I always as him ‘do I have Alice Cooper eyes?!’😂😂 Loved your reaction y’all ❤

I love this movie. Haven't seen it in years, so here I am crying again. There are a lot of takeaways for me, both good and bad, but what I find most special is the forethought Allie had to write their story down to keep it alive. There was so much criticism when it came out (which continues) I always wondered if people watched it through the lens of the criticism they heard or for whatever reason just didn't like it. Thanks for doing it.

Once you've met Noah & Allie they will never leave you. One of my favorite scenes of all time is their argument at the car: Allie: you arrogant son of a bitch! Noah: would you just stay with me? Allie: Stay with you? what for? look at us, we're already fighting. Noah: well, that's what we do. We fight. You tell me when I'm being an arrogant son of a bitch and I tell you when you're being a pain in the ass. Which you are, 99% of the time. I'm not afraid to hurt your feelings. They have like a two second rebound rate and you're back doint the next pain-in the ass thing. Allie: So what? 🖤Noah: so it's not gonna be easy. It's gonna be really hard. And we're gonna have to work at this every day but I want to do that, because I want you. I want all of you, forever, you and me, every day.

My mother and daddy had been married 57 years when he passed away in 2019. My mother had dementia and although she had no idea who I was even though she lived with us, the one person she never forgot was Daddy. She asked all day, every day where he was and what time would he be home. The last few days of her life, she didn't speak at all until a few minutes before she passed. The last thing she said was his name. It was three years, almost to the day, that she was looking for him. I've seen this movie so many times, but it's never hit me like this before. I met my wife, Janelle when we were sophomore s in H.S. I was 15 and she was 16. We dated until we were 21 and got married. We’ve been married for 36 years to date. I’m so very grateful to God for his Providence and for my (still beautiful )wife. Proverbs 18:22.❤

I saw this shortly after it was released on DVD, wasn't really interested in it, but wound up really enjoying it, eventually bought the movie. This is one of the best romantic movies out there. The two main stars, McAdams and Gosling couldn't stand each other during the making of this, but would up getting together in real life for awhile after this movie, so there was some real chemistry going on between the two. KZfaq Gosling and McAdams MTV kiss, you might enjoy that, it's essentially those two finally coming out and letting people know they were together. And yes Asia, that is Regina George from Mean Girls. lol Glad you two enjoyed this, great movie. And Happy Anniversary to BJ's parents, 51 years is a long time and great to hear.

I am nothing special; just a common man with common thoughts, and I've led a common life. There are no monuments dedicated to me and my name will soon be forgotten. But in one respect I have succeeded as gloriously as anyone who's ever lived: I've loved another with all my heart and soul; and to me, this has always been enough. AMEN. This one makes me cry every single time. 😄 Congrats to your parents mate! A couple of other lovely movies to keep in mind for the future - PS. I Love You. Hope Floats. The Holiday. Serendipity. While You Were Sleeping. You've Got Mail. In Her Shoes. Message in a Bottle. ❤

I read the book before the movie came out. I couldn't put down the book and stayed up all night to finish it, and cried the whole time reading it. Then saw the movie at the theater when it came out, and cried through the whole movie. And every time I watch it, I still cry. Cried while watching it with you two just now! This movie is great and one of my favorites!

I have to say that I have been with my significant other (we didn't feel we needed to be married to be MORE committed), for 49 years, and while we did separate several times for periods of time, we lived together throughout so that we could co-parent (five sons ), as best as possible. We have been together as a couple again for the past ten years and I could not be more grateful for what we have now. We are both in rather poor health but we just keep pulling/pushing onward. For this to happen for us would be the best scenario I can imagine! .I have to say it is rather terrifying to imagine either of us without the other, at this point. God bless you both and thanks for watching The Notebook with me!

The first time I watched this movie I was sitting in my living room up for no reason at 6am on a Saturday. Baby by the end I was balled up in the corner of the couch sobbing HARD! I mean loud sobs n snot type sobbing. I’ve dropped a few tears watching some movies, reading some books and even listening to some songs but to have ugly cried alone on my couch all off some random oh let’s see what this movie’s about that was an unexpected first.

I met my first love when I was 10 and he was 11. We were in the same class., for me it was love at first sight. We would walk around the school with his arm around me, it was great. We went our separate ways when he went to high school. We started dating again when I was 22 and he was 23. We were together for 37 years ,having three beautiful daughters. I lost him in 2019 to cancer, he was 59 years old.

Nick Cassavetes did a great job directing this film starring his mother Gena Rowland. Another one of his classics is the film John Q starring Denzel Washington and David Thornton ( he portrayed Allie's father in The Notebook). Cassavetes late father, John, was an exceptional actor and director.

Years ago I worked in a nursing home. There was a man who had been captured during WWII. He survived the Bataan Death March and as a POW. He told me what kept him alive was someday going home to his wife. He said worse than the death march and undergoing torture as a POW was that after 60some years of marriage his beloved wife didn’t remember him due to Alzheimer's. He passed away and she died six months later
