The only good thing about Kristallnacht is that it finally woke some German and Austrian Jews up and they finally got out. Sadly many were finally caught in Belgium, France and Holland when Germany occupied these countries. Fortunately my grandfather had the foresight to flee Austria shortly before German troops crossed into Austria on March 12th, 1938 so they missed their visit.

Thank you so much for this! Specially to the survivors that gave testimony about their ghastly experience. My heart just sink everytime I see the trains filled with the young and old. Heart wrenching. People should count their blessings, everyday..

I've been wishing a LOT lately that I weren't saddled with a million crippling fears (chiefly my insanely strong fear of heights and therefore, also flying) so that I could take a trip to Europe and pay my respects at Auschwitz, etc. I mean, that would be a lot better than KZfaq comments and I think it'd help with the sense of utter helplessness I always feel when I watch things about The Holocaust and it would be nice to leave flowers and stuff... I just don't know if I'll ever be able to, and it's depressing. I am SO SO sorry for what you all suffered. I'm sorry for babbling...

In all that babbling, I left out a confession: I am a recovering alcoholic, and when I was still drinking, I actually liked the Nazis! But now that I'm sober and on anti-psychotic medication, I realize how extremely effed-up I was and I really really feel a need to apologize. It's hard to live with, and I guess I just want to unburden myself the best I can. It's just awful.

James, I wouldn't wish to compound your conscience with my criticism. Not one of us is Perfect! NOT ONE! My ONLY reference in Life is the relationship I have with Jesus Christ, my Lord and Savior. I forgive you. I pray if you do not have Jesus in your Heart, Mind and Soul then please take a moment to get on your knees and speak to Our Almighty Father in Heaven. Repent of your Sins and ask Jesus to Forgive you and set you Free from your Fears and anxiety. Ask the Lord Jesus to be your Lord and Savior and to come into your Heart and Reside in you. Your Life will never be the same and getting to know Jesus through your daily walk and prayers will become your Beacon of Love and HOPE in your LIFE!!! I pray this for you in Jesus Mighty Name!!❤🙏 I Pray Peace and Serenity in your Life Sir. You have come clean (literally), so you are absolved. You did not commit these atrocities, and you woke up to the fact that you were wrong and apologized. Enough said. As far as flying/fear of heights go, my mother used to have the same problem with claustrophobia. The solution was a small dose of Valium that she took about an hour before the plane took off. She slept all the way to Europe and woke up refreshed and unafraid. It is not like alcohol so you shouldn't have any side effects - but I'd check with your doctor to be safe. The killing sites in Germany, Austria and Poland - not to mention Yad Vashem in Jerusalem - are indeed worth a visit to remind yourself of man's inhumanity towards man. I wish you peace.

In fact, there should be no loss of human rights in terms of individuality. Able to claim damages in case of servitude One day, righteousness will never be distorted and will last forever.
