He was bored with his life way before Anna came in the picture. The way he looked around his house with that look in his eyes. Of course this isn't a reason to cheat, especially not with your daughter in law. A very tragic ending indeed. He lost everything for some passion. It's a bit sad that all the juicy bits were cut out of the picture, though. Haha.

Der Film ist magisch, noch nie habe ich die menschliche Abgründe so poetisch gezeigt gesehen. Die ganze Zeit schwanken die Gefühle zwischen Neid und Graus. Neid, weil so eine Leidenschaft natürlich für sich selbst gewünscht ist und Graus, weil die Leidenschaft sich von so manchen Grenzüberschreitungen nährt. Der Film ist ein Kunstwerk!

I think there is not more cruel that a father that betrayed his son with his future wife. The movie is very good, but is a fist in the stomach. I have watched this .movie many years ago and now I still have the sens of profound sadness because both of them they have destroyed the poor guy, and the entire family. Not to forgive them, absolutely not. Thank you to upload this movie for us.

Scenes were cut out of this pity they didn't cut the whole sick movie Jeremy irons part was so sick and it wasn't love it was lust he should have wore a bib he dribbled so much Anna's part she has a brother who drooled over her and commited suicide a mother married and divorced 4 times and she was as sullen as she was sexually depraved and sadly most if not all comments say they loved story acting and three cheers I say it's an insult to English actors and their storylines would rather watch jane austin movies any day 😮😊

Daddy got attracted to a Lisa Stanfield look alike. It should take a very surprising twist should Anna got involved with grandfather as well and that makes it 3. Juliette is too old to old to be the son's girlfriend but the right mistress for the father. There's few 90s movies with similar plot but this isn't really a good one
