2024 And we are still here ! Man... I was like 15 or so when this show came out and now I am 33... time really flies.

SERIOUSLY NOTHING will ever beat the first season of the oc. No other tv series to date has ever been as moving, heartfelt, and simply a-maaazzziinngggg as this drama.

I love how Kirsten came to love Ryan. This scene, especially, showed how much Ryan affected their lives.

Nothing captures true emotion like the first season of this show. You can practically feel the hurt and the sadness when you watch this. Love exists...and then life happens. This was the best episode in my opinion.

Every year when I rewatch the oc the end of season 1 always makes me cry!!!! I know everything's going to be okay anyway (duh) but something in me just can't help it. ESPECIALLY the part where Kirstin starts crying when wrapped with Ryan's sheets UGHHHH!!!!!!

I am going to be honest When I finished watching this show I felt something had disappeared in my life just thinking I won't be hearing sth cohens jokes and ryan and marisa I don't know what this feeling is but I love this show and this song makes me think of the past and makes me wonder what is next

This scene is absolutely phenomenal, it really shows how much everyone changed. Like Ryan is leaving instead of staying, Seth leaves and you wouldn't expect that from him at the start of the season, Marissa is drinking alone and not with friends and Kirsten has grown to care forRyan a lot even though she despised him at the start.

That shot of Marissa looking at Ryan as he leaves is enchanting. Absolutely chilling.

Years later I still love this scene and the emotions i invokes. It shows that even if you have everything, it's still worthless if you're not with the ones you love.

Not sure if anyone has noticed, but in the scene where Marissa dies another cover of Hallelujah (by Imogen Heap) is playing in the background. One is showing Marissa watching Ryan leave while the other is showing Ryan watching Marissa as she passes away.

I think I heard this song for the first with the OC season 1 finale and I remember how perfect the song felt for the final scenes, because the song is so melancholic, but so beautiful at the same time. I was about 10 years old then and today I'm 30, so that was 20 years ago.

This season ending could be the best season ending ever put on TV! The amount of emotion and feelings it's like to much that you cant take in more.

Nothing gets me in this as much as Kirsten sobbing her little heart out. The irony being that she didn't want Ryan to stay at the beginning. Gets me every time and Kelly Rowan kicked some serious ass. i can't watch that part without crying.

as a guy..i admittedly watched this show religiously and me and one of my friends would talk about it every week after the new episodes came on...it was a great series and this was probably one of the best finales

I remember that I didn't like O.C. at the beginning but after this scene i fell for it and for four years it became my life. Shows like these should not be forgotten.

I just found out,that in Germany it's airing again right now. Almost ten years later, it's still an amazing show! I've grown up, but I'm sure, that I'm gonna cry even in 40 years from now, when I see this scene. Heartbreaking!

Although I can't relate to their rich kid lifestyle, having a limo at home and owning a boat and all, but the scenes was beautiful and so as the music. I cried when I watched it when I was small. Time flies and left with good memories.

General public tends to always look down on teen drama tv series, but the 1st season of The O.C. was an actually and seriously good show. Perhaps the best season of any teen drama show ever.

This song served as an omen for me in my life. Not only does the beginning mention my name in a faith-oriented manner as I practice in my real life, but Ryan’s life is a mere reflection of my upbringing; from the adoption of a family after being kicked out, the family maintaining their faith in me through my ups and downs, and eventually becoming a construction project manager (highlighted at the end of the show). I today am a Redevelopment Project Engineer in Northern, CA which is the exact same thing as a Project Manager. I am now 25, driving a a new autumn fall red hard top convertible BMW coupe, with butter seats and on the verge of owning my own rental property. God works in mysterious ways 🙏🏼

When I see these chapters again, I have a kind of nostalgia, remembering those days when you went to school and returned home to see Mtv and see the quality of the videos, it is wanting to return to those days. one of the best series.

I would watch this show any given time of the day. I was 17yrs old when I watched the first episode and took a liking to all the characters especially Ryan as my life wasn't much different than his. I'm a tough guy but even I cried during this ending scene of 1st series.
