This is not an example of classical conditioning.
@alfredbarnescomedy Жыл бұрын
@@kelleenkennon9377 because classical conditioning is when a neutral stimuli is paired with an unconditioned stimuli to elicit a certain unconditioned response. An unconditioned response is something you naturally do when presented with the unconditioned stimuli. Pavlov's dogs, the experiment they're referencing here, would naturally salivate when presented with food, so Pavlov rang a bell whenever the dogs were fed and eventually they would salivate just from the sound of the bell. In Jim's version, Dwight sticking his arm out is not an unconditioned response.
@Jim_The_Fish Жыл бұрын
@@alfredbarnescomedy It is though, because he’s expecting the mint, the way Pavolv’s dog expected food. That’s why his mouth all of a sudden tasted bad. It was used to having the mint to refreshen it.
@alfredbarnescomedy Жыл бұрын
@@Jim_The_Fish but there is no unconditioned response in this. Pavlov's dogs have nothing to do with expectations. It's about prompting an unconditioned response with a conditioned stimuli.
@M_uuni Жыл бұрын
@@alfredbarnescomedy the unconditioned respone itself has been conditioned into this. so technically this is a case of two Classic conditionings
@alfredbarnescomedy Жыл бұрын
@@M_uuni technically, no. There is no unconditioned response. If the "unconditioned response" needs to be conditioned into something, it's not an unconditioned response.
