As somebody who has never seen the play - I was enraptured by the trailer. I get chills every time i watch it…like i am obsessed now. I already loved some songs from Wicked but wow…wow. For me, personally, I felt like this trailer gave ppl an idea of where the journey is going to take us (for those who aren’t familiar with the story already) so i didn’t think they showed too much. I want more nowwww haha.

The best trailer I've ever seen and I did cry a few times. Pay attention the Yellow Brick Road is in the trailer they are saving so so much. The music on this trailer is stellar in production.

Very rarely do I love a trailer enough to watch over and over and THIS IS IT! Movie of the year I'm telling you.

I have never seen the Wicked musical. I admit my initial interest was JB only, but this trailer and the other bts video have really made me excited for the project as a whole. I'm now looking forward to seeing all the cast in this, and it looks visually spectacular. Can't wait.

Actually the length of the trailer is perfect. For those like me who had never seen the live stage play/musical, it helps to build a bit of context. I'm very familiar with the director's work and OMG both Cynthia and Ariana in this together is such a beautiful match. Have always been interested in the Wizard of Oz stories so I am very excited to see this. And yes, I cried too during the Defying Gravity song. Such a beautiful trailer.♥

Great reaction!! I am also incredibly excited for this movie. It’s my most anticipated film of the year going back to what you said about “in the Heights“ I don’t think it’s fair to even try and compare the two because “wicked” has been a global phenomenon for more than two decades, whereas “in the Heights” had a much smaller niche audience. And as much as I LOVED in the heights, it was released direct to streaming at the height of the pandemic. I’m fairly certain this movie is gonna crush everything in its path once it’s released.!!!

I can’t believe we’re actually getting a wicked movie!!! I’ve been waiting so long. This trailer was amazing, though I do think they may have showed a bit too much… but I already know the plot of course, so maybe it’s less of a giveaway if you don’t have that context

I don't think they showed too much. I think people are overestimating how much people who are unfamiliar with Wicked will pick up about the plot. I mean for a lot of us, we just hear a tiny snippet and we can fill in a whole tapestry from memory. But that's not what people who aren't already familiar with Wicked will pick up. Like, apparently some Ariana Grande fans took the snippet of Popular as a reference to her Popular Song. But that's cool! That just means they're in for an even bigger treat going in fresh.

there was no singing from the actors , mostly scenery from this trailer so not much was shown other some of the story. If there is songs, singing being shown online that usually few weeks until movie is released. Also there more footage that will shown during Summer Paris Olympics NBC

I live in NYC. Been here since 1998. Washington Hights is far more racially diverse that the movie portrays. So know that there is that insensitive nature of the movie.
