Maaaan this episode got to me for some reason. Seeing the unwavering support these two teens had at any stage of their life made me realize how much support I lacked at those ages. I’m both happy something like this was out there for those teens and sad that it’s something I lacked.

Adam's a smart kid. He seemed to know what he needed to do in order to get his way. As soon as that proves to not be an option it can genuinely inspire change. That along with having to confront the death of his friend head-on; he may not have immediate results, but I think there was progress made.

No some of the parents on this show are strict, but most just have reasonable expectations like helping with the household chores and not swearing/ talking back etc. Certainly strict compared to their own families though

In case anyone's wondering, this episode was filmed in March 2011. In fact, I believe most of the episodes in the New Zealand version of WSP were filmed around the same time. This was definitely one of the most emotional episodes of the series, but the remarkable changes the teens made to their lives surely benefitted them, and shaped them into better people.

Sariah Faith The parents had to know. They explicitly stated Legal guardianship had been transferred to his Host family. The Host family experienced real danger when he threatened their “Foster” son. He got exactly what he deserved.

I love the McDonald family! I saw them on the Australia version with Asa and Troy. I also looked into the McDonald family and all they have done for their community in Ohio, they're truly terrific people. Unfortunately Cassandra did pass away 4 years ago.

I got freaking emotional when Adam smiled sincerely remembering the times with his dad. I really hope he has found the right way for him to be truly happy inside..

Honestly the dad was one of the best figures on this show. He was very laid back and very kind and very understanding. He never really raised his voice and he was always telling the kids that he believed in them. The mom was also very understanding. She was kind and very willing to agree with the kids. These parents are so freaking wholesome. They genuinely care about the kids and treat them like if they were their own kids.
