As much as Day's playcalling can be frustrating, the coaching down the stretch was incredible. Saving that last timeout may have won the game because we could avoid the 10 second runoff on the grounding call. McCord was great not only in making the read on 4th & 7 with tight coverage, but also the awareness to spike on 1st & goal instead of taking a rushed end zone pass when there wasn't enough time to use all 4 downs anyway. Just so well managed by both of them... what a drive.

I loved Fleming's intensity to let everyone know we needed to get to the line and spike the ball in that situation. This team has experience playing in big games and they know what to do.

His play calling is terrible. We should have had the game secured and never had to come back. I'm scared of the QB right now too. But the defense is legit

The avoiding the 10 second runoff point is lost on me because iirc, he lost 30-40 seconds in not having called it earlier when the Irish were running the clock. That being said, I would've saved the timeout too, as anything can happen and it's crucial to have one on hand for the closing seconds.

@@jthefarmer298noter dame couldve said the same thing. Lots of missed interceptions, stalled drives (only punted once), bad coaching, failed 4th downs, etcetera. Take the dub.

Coach Freeman! They came out of a timeout with 7 seconds left having only 10 players on the field. Then they never corrected and were missing a D lineman in the B gap where Ohio State ran it to for the touchdown. The entire coaching staff missed it ! No excuses.

Ok, now we know what McCord is made of. In all honesty, wasn't really sure if he was the man but he definitely showed up and balled out the last drive. Well done sir, hats off to both sides for a tremendous college football game

Ppl talking about the 10 guys, and bad coaching. That doesn't excuse them not executing when it was 4th and 7, 3rd and 19, missing 2 easy interceptions, etc. Responsibility to go around. Not all on their coaches.

All time classic! born and raised in Columbus and a Buckeye through and through, Graduated from there, became a very low level Grad assistant in the video department; and of course now a fan....But I will tell you, that Notre Dame squad is amazing! Just like when we matched up against Georgia last year...a game like this is hard to get over! Much respect because Marcus Freeman has them boys balling! I doubt Notre Dame losses another game and we are Hoping we dont either. We may be running it back and seeing The Irish in the Playoff

Kind of a microcosm of McCord's season, 4 bad throws combined with 3 elite ones. If he doesn't lead Fleming enough, he can't get the first down. The pass To MHJ was about as tight a window as you can have. The throw to Egbuka down to the one, had to be thrown a bit behind the receiver or it gets picked.

Well when Notre Dame watches that final play back somebodies losing a scholarship or a job lmao how do you come out of a timeout with the season on the line for the biggest play of the game with 10 players!!!! much less a missing lineman right where they ran the damn ball!! The most sketchy ending I have ever seen in my life. No way that happens by accident and absolutely no one is talking about it, ive been gullible a time or two but never stupid enough to know that an ESPN expert analyst that studies game film cannot count and hasnt said something, very un easy feeling im getting about this one.

Having to score a touchdown on The last driver the game against ninth-ranked Notre Dame at home with their fan base is more impressive then beating a similar ranked team on a neutral field. Also if the team you're playing in the Rose bowl has any top draft picks are sitting out for the draft . If your Ohio State and you're looking forward to playing in the Rose that means something went wrong.

OSU won because Nd beat ND. Misses field goal, chose not to kick a field goal on the first drive. And other gaffes. Your team got lucky. Just run away excited. My sympathy for the wimp. You have us a coach who can’t take a little bit of criticism from a man that is a legendary coach that Ryan, the girly boy will never be.

@@DanielGreen-gi3ts Buckeyes dropped a TD in the end zone, dropped two picks including one very late, went on 4th and 1 twice inside the ND 10 resulting in no points instead of kicking a FG, had a clear catch called no catch because the replay booth watched a hand and missed a clear foot down, had a throw away called a grounding, and had the game turn because finishing a block was deemed roughness. You have a point that ND beat ND late, but ND was in the game that late bc Ohio State was beating Ohio State. Lou was right though. It came down to toughness, and. In the end the tougher team won.

Coach freeman lost this one. Made really stupid mistakes.passing on second down when you would have forced osu final timeout.10 players on the field when you could run one in and taken a half yard penalty and had all 11. A middle school coach would know better.
