THE OLD BRICK FACTORY: Ruins, old farm building, bottles and cows. I go looking for history.

I went to explore the site of a former brick factory and found ruins... and bricks. I stumbled across a ruined farm building, went walking along the nearby river, and then explored the location of a new road. Nothing has been built yet, but bushes, shrubs and hedgerows have been removed, revealing what's hidden underneath.

As a child my cousins and I would play in and around the ruins of an old brick factory. We would climb atop the slang heap, only it was called the gob dump. Thanks for jogging a childhood memory.

That is a super cool farm. It's amazing how the bricks hold up. You could always roll down the hill. .lol the water is so clear. Love animal shots too. You hit almost everything I enjoy today. Great video. Cute squirrel.

One thing I find fascinating about your "neck of the woods" are the old buildings. Of course the old castles and those are really cool. But, I am just talking about the old buildings. In the U.S. when I get to visit the "lower forty-eight" it is always fun to visit the old buildings farm homes, and ghost towns. thanks again for another fun video.... Good fortune, God Bless.

You made me laugh so hard when the grouse scared you....because many time while I've been out walking in the woods of Tennessee one would jump up and fly and you do almost soil yourself!😂oh what a laugh you gave me😂

That broken white ceramic bottle could be glued, if you had all the pieces. It would look pretty cool glued together, with all those "cracks".

What a great video! I know we see differently through the lens of your camera but everything was so beautiful! I kept saying, oh I'd love to have a still photo of that. Loved how you showed us all the different things. The buildings are so beautiful in their decaying state. Just lovely, thank you. Hope you didn't to sick on those berries

Hi and thanks for your kind comment. I am my own worst judge when it comes to editing the videos. I often take several shots of some scenes, mainly because I'm not satisfied with the first one, so you see the best. I try to break up the video with a bit of nature, and it often adds a bit of colour to the film as well. No, I kept off the blackberries after that... until at least the following day, when I found another patch. In a week or two they'll be gone. ... Scott

I really look forward to your historical searches and was absolutely delighted by all the footage you shared. Flora, fauna and precipitation. Hope you didn't get to wet and were okay after enjoying the berries. Till next time. Keep safe!

Hi Linda. Thanks for your comment. Here on the west coast of Scotland, we have plenty of precipitation. In fact we apparently have rainfall, whether just a few drops or a downpour, five days out of seven - and I can believe it. As a result, doing an adventure and making a video requires a dry window of opportunity. Unfortunately all of the planning doesn't always work out. ... Scott

Greetings from across the pond! I always look forward to your video's. That brick factory looks fascinating. I would be eating the wild blackberries as well. It's a shame there wasn't more to find. That was to bad about that small jug. That would be a find. That headlight enclosure is something that you should go back for. They are highly collectible. That style looks to be from around the 1930's.I look forward to watching you explore that river! As always A terrific video! Congratulations on 3,000 Subs!Cheers! Keith

Hi Keith. Thanks for your comment. I noticed I reached 3,000 after the video was made, so I acknowledge everyone in the next video coming on Friday. Someone else mentioned the value of the headlight, and suggested it might be from a motorbike. ... Scott

A fun video and adventure. Thanks for taking us along. I wonder if that wall that was well patterned was a display wall? The headlight bucket was an interesting find. I would have loved to see inside the locked shed. I wonder if they had the front door so high to stay out of the dust and noise? Anyway, I am looking forward to your next instalment, Cheers, from the Antipodes.

In the U.S. we have what is called "Silver Gray" squirrels. (Though, I have yet to see one in Alaska) Is that the same "breed" for lack of a better word?
@RustyNailsadventures
@RustyNailsadventures 6 жыл бұрын
Hi Ralph, yes I think it's the same type of squirrel. They are an imported species from North American and they are gradually pushing the local red squirrels out. It doesn't matter what colour they are, they're great to watch... Scott

Rusty, when I was a kid, they were not bad eating. Not that we were poor, but us kids (4 of us) would camp out with friends once in a while. And In the woods/bush, us kids all had a shotgun or a .22 cal rifle to carry. And Yes! We survived! Well most of us did:-). Thank you for taking the time to answer me..
