My mom's mother's family (Monaghans and Keanes) come from Doohoma, and though I've never been to Ireland, I feel close to them listening to your lovely aong!

All very well and good but the 'County Home' was a place no elderly person wanted to go to. More than likely it was at the same place as the Workhouse used to be. Also it was treated like a place where the elderly went to finish out their days. That was certainly my experience in the Midlands back in the early '70's
