My beloved husband was called to glory at the age of 39 years old. This year 2022 Leaving three young children but, the old rugged cross got me going day by day. Thanks so much for such inspiration. Our God is just and faithful. My heart goes out to all battling grieve most especially to you all young widows 😭😭😭😭🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏.

Losing my husband tells me that this life ,we are living is nothing without Jesus. And the old rugged serve as a constant reminder that even in death and whatever situation I find myself. Christ pays it all on the cross for me. Just by knowing this gives me more strengths to go on in the right direction. My wife Deborah Randolph was called to Glory in 2021 at the age of 67 after giving me the best 27 yrs. of my life and she was the 1st Lady of our church. The burden was unbearable, but Jesus has been there every step with me. Through His love I am starting a new life, I owe so much to the cross, and I am sure it is even more than I know. Praise Jesus. I am here for all who have had a spouse pass.

This is a song during my grandfather's funeral. I never thought losing a parent could be this painful. It is so so painful. I cannot imagine my life ahead not having to see him nor hear his voice anymore no matter where I go, no matter what I do. He is gone forever. 😭😭😭😭

No matter what, this song will always remind me of my cousin. When he was little my aunt sang this to him before he went to sleep. Sadly he died on march 31 of this year and it tore my aunt up. He was her first born son and her closest son. He had just gotten his life turned around for his 5 year old son and was on his way to get a refill of his seizure meds. But they wouldn’t give it to him even though he’d been taking them for 10 years. He had a seizure driving back and got in a wreck. He survived but was in the icu. But they let him out only 10 hours later. The only visible injuries were just his lip from biting down on it. He was walking just fine too. But a week later he was found dead. My aunt requested this song to be played at the funeral and every time I hear it I think of him

I just got a cochlear implant switched on yesterday. Everything sounds like beeps, whistles, and Alvin, Theodore, and Simon, so far. This is my favorite hymn, so I popped in to see if it's at all recognizable. It isn't really, but I am getting a sense of the rhythm and a few vowel sounds. Makes me happy. It could take a year before hearing music rather naturally.

My Mother and I sat in rocking chairs on the screened in porch before I was in school. I learned how to make her coffee with an old drop pot. She always sang The Old Rugged Cross. She knew she would die young, but she told God if He would take care of me and my older sister, she would forever be in heaven waiting for us. I received my Salvation in 1978 and married s wonderful man. The Old Rugged Cross will be sung when God calls me to Heaven and see my Ma'am well and radiant. It is true, the crossed was rugged.They were coarse and splintered. Thank You Jesus for baring our sins and thank You Father for sending your Son as a way of salvation from our sinful nature. I love You, Lord Amen

@@ryujin1522 Too many contradictions in the bible, no real proof when asked to provide it, i cant believe in something based on a blind faith that others use as an answer, just because you believe in something that doesnt make it real. I could just as easily believe in fairies and a fairy realm that i will goto when i die, as i can a god and heaven and to be honest i prefer the fairy idea lol. Dont mean to be offensive but thats just my way of thinking on the subject. Also the bible was written by men, for men, now knowing men on a daily basis i know that i can send my husband to the store for 5 items and he'll maybe come back with 3 that i wanted and 6 that i didn't, yet these men remembered all these things all the words spoken and didnt bend the story to fit a narrative at any point.. that I cant believe.

Holding my granddaughter with retts. We're on a gospel binge. Most never heard of rett syndrome. I know I have not. But giving me renewed faith she will have a special place in heaven. Impossible for her to know sin. Thank you Jesus for your salvation.
