Team Yeti never takes a real vacation.
There's no time to sit around, do nothing and relax when there are mind blowing adventures to be had. Perfect example: Exploring the island of Oahu, Hawaii. This mountainous island wonderland has non-stop hikes at every corner. Waterfalls, wild pigs, deep gooey mud, stunning vistas and some extreme humidity made for an excellent hike on the famous Olomana Trail.
It's not for everyone, but we we couldn't get enough of the sketchy, slippery ascent.
(Someone really should replace some of those ropes though...)
Music: Don't Stop by Odesza
Shot with: Nikon D3100 & GoPro Hero 2

Another hiker died on the third peak of this trail today. He suffered a 400 foot drop. Proceed at your own risk.

Its not about the views. Its about the accomplishment of the summit. People think this is a hiking trail. This is damn near a climbing route.

It's true. Those ropes are simply terrible! I figured if we grabbed as many of them as we could at once, it would be (slightly) safer. We're still alive!

Incredible video, any tips? Also how long for all 3 peaks?? I’m very fit and coordinated, done a few easy-intermediated level hikes, but what skill level do you recommend for this hike? This goes to anyway that’s done this btw. Also any gear you recommend bringing?
@YetiAdventure
@YetiAdventure 4 жыл бұрын
Hey Brandon! I think it took about 3-4 hours for all three peaks. (maybe a bit less?) If you're fit and confident on slightly greasy terrain, you'll have no problem. Check the ropes really well before committing to them with your full weight. The only gear we'd recommend are decent shoes. Cheers!

I have most of the 3rd peak climb posted on my chanel. The down climb from the second peak is the most intimidating. Do not rely on any of the ropes. Do not trust them with your weight., Use them only as a balance guide and climb it as if you had none. Always check the rocks you grab always try for three points of contact. There were several ropes that were fraid and one even had been torn completly half way down the decent from the second peak. Bring water and snacks. A dry day is much safer.

What ticks me off is that my tax dollars have to pay for the rescues and recoveries that happen there all the time. Those who find themselves in that situation should repay the State of Hawaii for it. Y’all don’t get your panties up in a wad......Just my mana’o.

Take at least 5 bucks with you and leave it in the rusty lunchbox on the 3rd peak for the people who need money can do the hike and keep it.

This hike is on private property. The trail is not maintained by the state. People die falling off this trail. Others are injured. Find someplace else to hike where you are not putting yourself at risk and causing rescue personnel to come for you (or your body). This channel should not be advertising this extremely dangerous hike.
