The first Olympics was held in Greece in 776 BC then transferred to the Philippines the next year...

Actually in school in Spanish, they teach you that the Americas is actually one continent. The division is done more recent due to political influence. But we're 1 continent, 1 soul. Thank you for your cool video!!

Jim Thorpe should absolutely be “felt bad for.” It was not because “he was just the only one who didn’t lie.” He was discriminated against all along the way because he was Native American. Kind of a sad part of history to mention but breeze over. In general love your videos, though.

@@BrightTripTravel In 1983, 30 years after his death, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) restored his Olympic medals with replicas, after ruling that the decision to strip him of his medals fell outside of the required 30 days. Official IOC records still listed Thorpe as co-champion in decathlon and pentathlon until 2022, when it was decided to restore him as the sole champion in both events.

I love this channel and its purpose. I just really wish the content was better vetted? The anecdote about Hitler isn't entirely true. Why teach history if not fully factual? A month after the Olympic Games, Owens told a crowd, “Hitler didn’t snub me-it was [Roosevelt] who snubbed me."
