As you’ve probably realised, the actor and actress portraying Charming and Snow are married in real life, so the absolute adoration you see on their faces is *true.* With Lana Parilla, portraying the Queen, that’s *not* her normal singing voice hence why it’s so deep. As for Hook’s actor, he’s naturally Irish, but had to sing in a British accent, so imagine the difficulties there as well as *breaking his foot* during performing the song!

From being a major Once Upon a Time fan, the lyrics from wicked always wins makes sence. Basically she is jealous that Rumple chose her sister, Regina, to cast the dark curse instead of her because Regina is evil and Zelena is wicked.

When you know what's going on, I think the tone of the Wicked Witch's song is perfect, and intentionally hilarious. When you know her whole backstory and motives, it makes sense. She's singing about her sister being full of sorrow, and the tone is all motivational and uplifting because she's been waiting years for her sister (Regina) to be vulnerable and rejected by Rumplestiltskin so she can step in and get everything she wants. It is a happy and motivational song because she's happy and feeling motivated. It's sort of supposed to be sarcasm in the form of lyrics and a contrasting melody.

"I'm...kinda lost." The reason they cut from Rumplestiltskin and the Evil Queen to the Wicked Witch is because he was talking about how maybe he chose the wrong sister. You see, the Evil Queen and Wicked Witch are half sisters, and Rumple chose to tutor the Evil Queen in magic instead of the Wicked Witch. (It made her envious and gave her an inferiority complex.)

Something really cool about Emma's song is the melody is the same as the main theme for the show (which you can find at the beginning of the first episode). I just think it's really cool

With the evil queen - yes it was intentional, there is an interview where they specifically talk about her voice and the fact that they liked how dark and gravelly it sounds. But you're totally right with everything you said about Zelena's song!

Her second pregnancy during a later season (4 or 5, I think)was hidden and they sent her out of episodes while she gave birth. So yes, Emma gets a baby brother named Neil in honor of Rumple's son, who went by Neil in our world and was with Emma when she was in her early twenties just before she went to jail and Neil is also Henry's father. Lana does add a lot of rasp to her songs and to her voice when playing The Evil Queen. She Studied voice for 10 years to do that also. Also Lana has a wide voice range too, you’ll see in interviews you’ll hear her voice be very high or very low. I think she’s used to having a lower voice for lots of her newer roles. And I’m her older roles she had a higher voice.

As someone who is obsessed with once upon a time, your comments on everything made me laugh so hard. I’ve rewatched the musical episode about a hundred times, but I never noticed any of the things in their voices that you pointed out. They’re so clear now after hearing you say them. I definitely agree that the Evil Queens song was way to low for her voice. Here are some things I have to say: - I agree, the green screen kind of sucked but after watching 7 seasons with it you get used to it. - I don’t recommend questioning the family tree of this show if you haven’t watched it all- they’re practically all related anyways. - when you asked if Regina (Evil Queen) and Zelena (Wicked Witch) we’re in love, I died of laughter. They’re actually half sisters, again, everyone’s practically related. The Wicked Witch has a daughter, Robin, with Robin Hood (he’s dead now 🥲). The Evil Queen dated Robin Hood but the Wicked Witch didn’t, so that’s quite confusing. - The Black Fairy is Rumplestiltskin’s mother, she basically keeps children captive in a place called The Dark Realm. - Rumplestiltskin had a lot of good and bad phases, I think it’s safe to say that he is mostly bad but occasionally good. - Hook’s song: Revenge is Gonna Be Mine, is my favorite as well. Colin, the actor, really does have an amazing voice.

Oh gosh your reaction throughout the episode. I just about died the whole time. I loved it! For Once Upon a Time some episodes can be long, some can be cheezy but what drew me to the show was the way they twisted the Fairy Tale stories and how they brought them into the show, and the actors/actresses are awesome.

Some basic info: The Wicked Witch (Zelena) and the Evil Queen (Regina) are sisters. The wicked witch has a baby with Regina’s now dead boyfriend because when he was alive the wicked witch tricked him into sleeping with her. (Side note: When Emma gave up Henry when he was a baby, Regina adopted him so she is his mother too.) Snow and Charming do have a baby because Snow was sad she didn’t get to raise Emma so they had a son in Storybrooke (the town they live in). The Black Fairy is Rumplestiltskin’s mother who also doesn’t age because of where she lives. And rumplestiltskin sometimes is good and sometimes is evil. Also, everyone has fairy tale names like Captain Hook, Snow White, Evil Queen. But they also have real names. (Like how Superman’s real name is Clark Kent) Captain Hook’s real name is Killian Jones and Prince Charming’s real name is David Nolan. I don’t know if that cleared anything up, because the show is veryyy confusing!! (Also I am so glad you watched the whole episode because I was dyingggg for you to hear Hook’s song!!!)

I honestly just watched this for fun because I LOVE this show, and I also loved all your reactions to Julie and the Phantoms, so I thought why not? I'm not even gonna answer any of your hilarious questions though because they've all been commented before lol. I will say that though I laughed throughout this video, it also made me a little frustrated seeing a non-watcher react so dismissively to a show I know by heart. The musical is actually one of the most iconic episodes in the entire show for all of the build up & significance it represented for the story. Everyone behind the scenes talked about the musicality being a culmination of pure emotion, and through this, you'll find that every single song fits their character so well. For example, the Evil Queen = rage (at never getting a chance at happiness unlike the rest of her subjects), Wicked Witch = triumphant (over the Evil Queen's apparent failure in front of their common mentor), Captain Hook = vengeful (obviously). But I do agree that some of the lyrics are very cheesy, looking at it from the outside-in, although I never realized this from the inside-out until you said it. Anyway, I find your comments on vocal usage very interesting, and would love for you to check out the tv musical 'Galavant' sometime :)

When I show has a high budget that doesn’t mean the effects are automatically good and people seem to for get that. It depends on where the moneys going it could be going to the costumes the sets mostly like and the actors and that stuff gets more and more expensive as tv shows go on
