There must be 100 videos out there, claiming to solve this problem. NONE of them work. Believe me, I tried most of them. So, I troubleshot the problem myself, found the answer and it is as spot on as it is simple. This will fix your problem, 100% of the time.
**I forgot to mention, the "five tanks" this worked on were as follows:
3 X SMOK Cloud Beast
1X SMOK Prince (it came with a mod I bought once. I dug it out of the box)
1X MAXO V 12
-The MAXO is an awesome tank that I never would have discovered if not for the first 4 leaking SMOKs. But when it came, it leaked too. Same fix worked.-

I cannot believe I hadn’t thought of this. The simplicity is blinding. The fact that I am a full blown mechanic and need to deal with sealing threads for oils and liquids almost daily makes me ashamed. Thank you, kind sir, for lighting my path. No longer will I have to blow the juice back out the air holes and wipe down my entire mod several times a day. A huge irritating weight has been lifted from my shoulders.

Kennedy McGovern I’m writing this review to let you know that your Teflon tape fix works also on my RTA!! Three weeks ago I purchased a Hellvape Rebirth RTA. I was inches away from throwing it in the trash but then I watched your video! Then I said to myself if it works on standard screw in coils why wouldn’t it work for this Tank too! So today I broke out my Teflon tape and what do I have to lose? So far it’s working GREAT! Who’d ah thunk it? A .05 cents to fix a $40 dollar problem!! @@wayneg.2342 Morning Wayne, are you having trouble with a leaking RTA? My Mike Vapes Rebirth leaked right out of the box! I tried everything, things you shouldn’t have to do on a brand new RTA. The first Rebirth I bought the air ring was on crooked and the screwdriver/coil depth jig was missing. Thankfully I’ve been dealing with the same vape shop since they opened over 2 years ago so I was able to exchange it! This time all the parts were there, machine work was spot on! After building my deck I put everything back together and began filling it up, JUICE WAS POURING OUT!! 1 thing about Vaping that really gets under my skin is E-JUICE on my fingers and on my mod! @@dfighternelams6387 Hi friend. I think I’ve nailed it down. It only happens when I refill. I’ve figured out that when I screw the cap on it creates air pressure which pushes juice through the air flow (bottom air flow deck). So I figured out a way to prevent it from leaking. After refilling, as soon as I put the top on the tank I flip it upside down to finish screwing it on then leave it sitting upside down for just a minute. This allows the air pressure to dissipate through the tank (air holes) without it leaking. The trapped air needs to escape. Flipping it over and setting it upside down for a minute or so after refilling provides time to allow the air to vent through the air holes without making a mess. Thanks for the reply. 🙏

Kennedy, I must congratulate you! If this advise doesn't totally fix the leaks of e-juice through the airflow holes, then it will most certainly dramatically decrease the amount that runs out. I just tried it on my Geekvape Mero tank (that they converted from a pod to a normal tank by adding a 510 screw base on the bottom) which leaked like crazy only while I was filling it. But I mean REALLY leaked! Not like just a drop, but a millimeter of liquid would escape out of the tank through the airflow holes during filling! Because it uses B-coils that are not screwed in, but jammed into the tank, I wrapped some Teflon tape on the top of the coil, where it enters the chimney, and a little less tape on the bottom of the coil, under the o-ring. Like magic, the amount of juice that escaped went down to like one drop! And I am certain that if I find the correct number of rolls for the top and bottom of the coil, that the leaking would stop completely! I can't thank you enough for using your logic, and great reverse engineer thinking to solve this issue, which occurs on almost every tank with bottom air intake! I will spread this advice to my vaping friends by sending them the link to your video. I watched so many BS advice videos on YT about how to fix this problem, but this actually works perfectly if done right. And because once I did it, it seemed so simple and obvious, it was a sure sign for me that it's the correct answer to the question how to stop bottom airflow tanks from leaking. Hey everyone, and thanks for all of the great feedback! This video is now 4 years old (damn I was a big boy 90 pounds ago), and I have learned things since making it. Back then, I thought all coils attached the same way to tanks (screw in, like the tanks I have used). I have since learned that some do not attach that way. I am not going to change the title to the video, 4 years after the fact, so I will drop this update instead: This will work in all systems where the coils screw in to the tanks. If you have some kind of push in system, where there are no threads on your coils, it probably will not work. Teflon is meant to seal screw threads, and that is how I intend it to be used in this solution. My bad. That is all

Had the exact same issues as you & many. Did all that searching w/ no resolution too. Left SO frustrated, feeling there HAD to be a way AND that I couldn't keep wasting all this money... on $hit that doesn't effin' work!!! Was esp difficult then, considering there were less videos, more 'forums' & lots more of the sub-ohm type plug/play coiled tanks than anything else. That said, after trying countless tips, tricks, even modifications... NO amount of slightly closing, flipping over THEN sealing top fill, etc etc. worked. Not even the dental floss (yup, heard that one too) What did, however... was done accidentally at first, but then made SO MUCH SENSE. It worked like a charm ever since & couldn't be easier. Whether a sub-ohm tank OR RTA (given that it's been properly wicked... which can also cause flooding/leaking) I first, made sure that everything was tightly threaded, when assembling..ESP coil itself. Then, w/ anything top-fill & bottom airflow.... any time I was filling, esp when RE-filling... I'd FULLY CLOSE OFF bottom airflow BEFORE opening top. I'd refill, re-seal/close top, then..... re-open airflow. Vape as usual & ta da..... no flooding & NO leaking.. no matter. Just like when we were kids trying to take liquid out of a glass w/ a straw. The magic trick (maintaining of internal pressure =same) of putting a finger on top to seal THEN removing straw... w/ liquid held inside, "until". :) If there was the slightest break in pressure tho... finger moved OR even a slight crack in the straw... not only would it leak, it didn't seem to work right, either. Now-a-days, I do it without even thinking. CLOSE any airflow completely, open top, refill, close top, re-open airflow, vape. In fact, I have tanks from YEARSSSS ago, some... still have liquid in them (I know, eww) sitting on a shelf. Not one drop is on the tank OR on the shelf & we're talking yearS. Back then, bought & tried 'em all... Every darn version of Smok (with their tons of coil options too) .... Innokin, Kanger, HorizonTech, VooPoo, GeekVape, Falcon, Vaporesso, Aspire. Nearly 9 yrs into vaping & still a stellar vape for flavor/vapor, esp out of a tank = Aspire Cleito120. A super easy to assemble & use, no fuss, not too expensive plug/play tank w/ great flavor & vapor. Around 88w = hard to beat imho! No flooding, no leaks.... + no tape needed. ;) Hope someone newer to vaping, also struggling.. comes across this & it helps. It's the only reason I'm even leaving this comment... remembering just how frustrating it was!!!! Wondering (& even writing to some of them) why manufacturers don't instruct the closing of airflow when filling for best performance, etc.... + why most reviewers never showed or advised that (even if.. most did close it first, too) #ABillionLives ~ Live long(ER) & vape on!

I have to agree that you literally solved this ridiculously simple problem with a no nonsense and proven method to prevent liquid from leaking from threaded items... my hats off to you and you definitely earned my new subscription! One question though... I've had this humongous RTA from cloud chasers Inc called the BFDFT and for a good while the thing never gave me and issue... I ended up moving on to other tanks/rda's etc but recently decided to tinker with my old gargantuan rta so I cleaned everything up and reassembled it and started filling up the tank only to realize that the juice was literally POURING out of the bottom of the tanks glass... now I've checked both the top and bottom orings/seals and even tried two new ones that came with the tank but I noticed that the glass isn't friction fit to the seals and can literally be spun in circles with the tank full assembled! There is absolutely no cracks or tears or issues with them of any kind but the glass doesn't seem to have enough pressure on each end to keep the glass retained in place to keep it from spinning and I am at a loss as to how to fix it... I've screwed both ends of the tank down as far as they will go but I can turn the glass 360 degrees with basically ZERO friction... idk if you have any ideas, but if so I'd sure appreciate any input or ideas to fix this issue because it was and expensive and unique tank that I hate to never use again due to the loose glass issue... thanks in advance for any input you can give!! Hey there! Hopefully you've found a solution by now, but if not... maybe try a specialty o-ring. You can look for a thicker o-ring that has the same inner diameter measurement. where to put the teflon exactly? (i have serpent smm )
@100vg
@100vg 2 жыл бұрын
@@MohammedAli-sg8bh One person said to put the tape on the top and bottom of premade coils. Then someone else cautioned about, _"PTFE, known under the trade name Teflon, reaches temperatures of 300 °C (572 °F) to 450 °C (842 °F). When PTFE is heated above 300 °C the pyrolysis products are different and inhalation may cause acute lung injury."_ and Kennedy replied, _"It's on the outside of the threads. Those temps are at the point of combustion. The tape doesn't go anywhere close to there."_ So only on the bottom treads of a premade coil. One single wrap of tape. I hope this helps. Good luck!

dude, genius. i had some teflon tape next to me on my desk for months since i did some plumbing work... pretty much sat here not using my vape because i couldn't figure it out and was sick of dealing with it. just threw it on the threads, will see what happens. great job man. would like to add i'm using the TFV18 which people have reported a leaking issue with, so if you have one try it out.

But we didn't of it you did . Thanks.

I thought of this idea, just never implemented it. I got a TFV9 Smok tank. It's crap, like serious crap! I bathe in vape juice! The best tank and coil system I ever had was a Crown II tank and coil. The coil is threadless and just gaskets top and bottom. Has never leaked... I mean like a drop on a rare occasion. Best tank imo to this day! Simplicity wins! I am back on Crown II tank in fact. Like you, I heard a million solutions for this problem so I'll try your solution and report back. Thanks for pointing this easy solution out

Thank you sir ! I will try this ! Thank you ,I'm so pissed off with my l200 x tank the actual device is fine. But the tank is terrible. I'm definitely getting an aftermarket one to put on it. And Geekvapes customer service is awful. I have to pay to ship a fractured broken tank to them and don't have a guarantee of getting the correct color I bought nor do I have a say if I get new coils that came with the original kit that I paid for. It leaks ejuice into the base tray and it also spits hot ejuice into my mouth. And yes I've got the setting set correct wattage for the coil and the correct pg level in my ejuice . So annoyed. Hopefully it will hold thanks again!

You da man!! My tfv8 v2 has been leaking right out of the box. I tried other solutions like trimming the coil leads and pushing the o-ring down in the middle. Didn’t work... till I came across your video with the Teflon tape, I wrapped the coil threads about 1.5 times around the base of the coil, screwed it back in and boom, problem solved. Thanks Man

I did this on crappy pre-built Coils back in the day. With the high end machines and self wicking, this was no longer needed, as these just didn't leak any longer, straight outta the box. But new probs arrived with self-wicking and building your own coils. Sometimes I had huge leaking, esp. on tasty tanks with huge honeycomb airflow mechanism. I just pulled out one of those and the spilling came back into my house. Guess I have to try something new so the juice doesn't gush into the airflow holes. Sadly, Teflon tape won't do. But I bet this video was helpful to the mechanical impaired :D
