Black Temple progression can be excruciatingly painful if you haven't prepared for one particular boss. Mother Shahraz demands a high amount of shadow resistance from the raid and crafting these pieces in the first few weeks of Phase 3 is not going to be easy. Here is a guide to make sure your guild is prepared ahead of time to ensure you can bring Mother Shahraz down!

Knew a cop from Stormwind Guard working on a case linked to this cult... the guy disappeared, was found five days later in the canals just outside Old Town. Official report says he shadowbolted himself, but we all know that's a lie.

OOOO you reminded me how we did all those heart farming on Warmane a couple years ago. We had a group of like 12 people just farming trash in Hyjal for 4-5 hours. We had some serious sweat in my raid team, but at least we cleared on our first (14 hour) raid day. Mother Shahraz is one of my favorite fights in BC and by far my favorite fight to heal as a holy priest.

I remember having a rogue tank Mother back in the day. Was pretty awesome. I don't recall her being to hard compared to the council. Don't recall using SR either.........although it was a long time ago. I could be wrong. We just depended on people spreading out when they got teleported.

There's a lot of people here saying they did this boss with no shadow resistance. I was someone who cleared BT within about 4-5 weeks so it was relevant content at the time. When we got to Mother Shahraz we weren't prepared with resistance gear at all and we got dunked on. She was a lot easier later on when we had Hyjal and BT gear for a lot of our raiders and there is a big jump in power from T5 to T6 gear. Don't listen to the people who are saying you don't need shadow resistance if you want to clear BT quickly as many guilds aim to do now in classic. Farm the materials and farm the hearts and you'll save a lot of trouble. As players we are a lot better now, but if you still go with no resistance you're still going to die quickly.

What add-on are you using for your healing? When you click on your guilds name and it cast your specific spell.

Its different. Here you really NEED resists. Some bosses in TBC truly locked by res req and you cant bypass it by being ok raider like in ragnaros

When I did it back in the day, we used maybe 2-3 pieces of shadow resist gear and not all pieces. Edit: only time you are taking serious shadow damage is when you get teleported with 2 other players. With Weak Auras, it will be easy to coordinate who to go which direction. Instead of gimping your DPS with too much resistance gear, just equip a few and just move quicker. Easy

You can use classic shadow resistance gear. You can use a rogue tank that takes zero physical dmg for the whole fight. Now your healer are free to just heal the shadow damage

Im pretty sure you only need to have like 100 shadow resist on each raider plus 70 buff which can be purchased with greens

It didn't matter if i had the resist gear back in the day, My processor couldn't handle the load when Fatal attraction was casted on 3 players, my FPS would drop below 10.

07:00 - Isn't it always just better to transmute Primal Might over all the other ones on CD; then selling it and buying whatever primals you need?

not always because they price difference of using 5 primals for one might not always be quite as directly beneficial as say earth to water for example that brings you from a 2g primal to a 15-20g primal. Easy profit with only one cheap material involved

Blizz nerfed the first 2 waves of each boss's trash drops at some point in TBC, what that point was I can't remember exactly.

Wonder how much of a difference raid members having proper latency and FPS will make. That new Seed of Corruption spells effect brought my GPU to its knees back in the day, EVERY SINGLE TIME...

primal shadow, primal life and primal earth (even if eart isnt in thislist) is okey, like, probably the less expensive of them, I don't think turning water into shadow will be worth, you'd probably go to sell your water and buy shaow and have a win win condition for you. But we will see

Well... you have to GET there first and that means getting past Kael'thas and Vashj. Mother was a cakewalk compared to either of those, pre-nerf. Kael was a renowned guild killer.

What's the point of pointing out that 22 players take 22 times more materials than one player? Besides we are 22 players and it will go 22x as fast, won't it? Or is it something I dont understand?

U know whats fucked up?? Hearts dont drop from hyjall on T5 first patch.... :) Patch 2.2 so phase 3? Is when they drop from hyjal.

Remember when people thought Ragnaros required fire resist gear, then APES world firsted it before most of their raid even hit 60? I wouldn't be surprised if this boss went down in a matter of hours to a bunch of tier 5 geared players.

Interesting to know from several prospectus... this gear is pretty much shadow resist, armor and stanima and no stats..... so folks will want this shadow gear and another set they use otherwise to swap it with for the other bosses and trash mobs.

@@ownageDan Neither experience or internet connect has any impact on the amount of damage that is taken and that is the issue. Maybe if people have figured out how to break the game to the point they are doing way more damage than they are 'suppose' to though, who knows.

@@HallyVee How so...besides of course knowing to have shadow res gear prepared? X amount of shadow dmg is going to be X amount of shadow dmg without resistance gear, healer ability and consume frequency maybe that's about all I can think of, that might at least make it so a bit less res gear is required (the first few weeks before getting a lot of T6 gear at least but that's what this convo has always been about, if that does apply then sure, irrelevant).

I just use my Twin Tank Gear. I got like all Shadow Resistance Gear that there is. And if i change my Talents and throw in a Potion. Then i can easily get over 400 right now^^

Literal face roll boss on retail back in the day, if the raid is in full SR you ain't killing it. Unsure about pserver tuning or how tuned it will be for Classic

Yeah I was thinking the same, I cleared Sunwell US 10th, I don't remember wearing any SR gear at all. It has been like 12+ years so I was like hmm maybe I don't remember right but if someone else is calling me out then yeah I think I'm right.

@@Cruor34 Depends on when you downed Mother. World first 10 kills on her range from 2 weeks by Nihilium and others taking 6 weeks. They had to stack resistance gear at entry level of BT because they only had T5 gear. These top 10 kills are the 0.1% of players, the rest of us that killed her most likely did this much later and having progressed through Hyjal and BT at a slower pace we had better items and more materials to craft the Shadow res that we did use which led to an easier fight. I know private server players also do use a lot of Shadow resistance at entry level as well because of this and yes I know Pservers tune it harder but at the end of the day if you're walking in there with 0 shadow resistance and with T5 gear you're going to have a bad time.

This is some private server mumbo jumbo. On blizzard servers in vanilla TBC in no way did you have to use Shadow resistance on this fight. Maybe this was different on overtuned private servers but not on the blizzard ones. The only fight I recall needing resistance is hydros for tanks only in SSC.

You dont need shadow resistance for Mother S. Did it without 13years ago and you can be sure ppl can do it without today and theres no point making a video about it.
