LP = Laura Pergolizzi is an American singer/sonwriter. I like her unique voice and she is one of my favorite singers and also one of Fil's. He has reacted to several of her songs. One of her most popular songs is "Lost On You" which has more than one billion views on YT. She has written songs for other artists including Cher, Rihanna, Leona Lewis, Céline Dion, Christina Aguilera etc. Check out "Someday", "Dreamer" (one of my favorite tracks), "Muddy Waters" or "When we're high". Her cover of "Halo" is also outstanding. Fil once called her a "cellular artist", because she goes deep with her music and resonates on a cellular level with him.

LP is much better when she's live and not in concert. Concerts have notoriously bad sound because of the size of the arenas, the noise of the idiot audiences, and sound equipment that usually is not up to the task of dealing with the pain-in-ass crowds that seem to only attend these concerts to hear themselves scream or sing off-key along with the artists. Her live performances are also much better than the studio versions and when her singing is accompanied by superb background musicians the results are to literally die for. Her voice is musical when she isn't trying to hard to appeal to the teenage pop music lovers. On her cover of Beyonce's Halo it is a huge mistake trying to compare her to Beyonce because Jennifer Hudson made the over-hyped Beyonce sound like an average backup singer, a good but not spectacular singer, while LP's vocals would make Beyonce's versions of anything sound boring.
