We absolutely must have the arm wrestling special with Mordaunt and Rayner. One's prowess developed through sword bearing exploits against the other from duking it out on the mean streets of Manchester. I couldn't pick a favourite!

Crikey! Starmers' dad was a tool maker. Never knew that. He gets my vote on that alone.

Asking for a non-Brit: If his dad was a toolmaker, does that make Keir a tool?
@LennyCole96Ай бұрын
Has he ever mentioned his time running the crown prosecution service?
@viviencloggerАй бұрын
@@ysabelcornelivre3392 it was once a highly regarded trade - apprenticeships were 7 years long and highly regarded. (My dad trained as a patternmaker - just below the toolmakers ). Patternmaking and toolmaking apprenticeships died out in the 80s, mostly because heavy industry moved to China, but also because the Tories effectively ended apprenticeships. Most people will have no idea what a toolmaker is these days, so your description is as good as any....😁

I know he likes to keep it quiet but I can reveal that Sunak's dad was a GP and his mum ran a chemist shop. They were both immigrants but not *that* kind of immigrant, obviously.

I thought Sunak edged that on policy clarification, but Starmer's tie was the more reassuring.

Every time I hear Starmer say his dad were a toolmaker, I think of Stan Meadowcroft in Victoria Wood's dinnerladies. "My dad was a Desert Rat. He washed the dinner plates of thirty-two fighting men in a hubcap."

As usual with this guy, brilliant, hysterical and because it's true, very frustrating.
