He had the traitors pinned, weakened from their campaigns to purge the loyalist elements, their fleets unable to come to aid them and in desperate need of resupply. Had the iron warriors, word bearers, nightlords, and alpha legion deployed as intended the traitor legions would have been destroyed. It is even likely ferrus would be alive despite his costly duel with fulgrim despite how many view it. He actually did beat fulgrim until the warp was tore open by slaanesh and he was held down by a evil god. But it didn’t go as planned. The warp did rip open. I like the "...other than Sanguinius..." line. Still didn't stop them from facing off against each other in battle... What makes Sanguinius's actions even more selfless is that chances are he knew the fate that awaited him, but also what would have happened if he DIDN'T face Horus...

Guilliman Loves Ferrus Horus Loves Ferrus Fulgrim Loves Ferrus BUT HOW? Can GW make a novel about him MOAR!!!
@OskarHowell9913 күн бұрын
Gulliman says something similar in Know no Fear. He says he believed with any of four other brothers - Sanguinius, Dorn, Horus and Ferrus Manus, the Ultramarines and their respective Legion could fight against any foe in the Imperium. He said that of them, if it were the Ultramarines and the Iron Hands, they would win against any foe in the Imperium.

Guilliman in the current setting merely proves that Horus was spot on. He’s managing an imperium ripped in half and keeping it somewhat together while hating every minute of it. No other primarch save Horus would have been able to manage wrangling so many factions into some form of cooperation save maybe sanguinius. He doesn’t really count though since it’s more a result of his innate charisma/“charm” than his ability to lead though not to say he wasn’t exceptional at it.

Ferrus attacked Fulgrim twice and got demolished both times. He angrily insisted on immediately plunging face first into an uncertain battle in order to salve his wounded pride instead of waiting for reinforcements that would have cemented victory. This resulted in the angry potato dying and his legion being decimated and largely taken off the board. Sometimes, those GW writers are so far up their own butts, that they can look through their own eye sockets.

I feel like Horus respected most of his loyalist brothers, and he would gladly exchange every traitor Primarchs for their Loyalist counterparts : "I lead an army of broken monsters", "Who do so many I'd wish beside me stand against me ?" He respected them all, for different reasons of course, but he respected them. But yeah, Sanguinius and Ferrus are above the rest.

Horus knew that some of those on his side were sub-par, I remember reading that he would've favoured Dorn over Perturabo and that Dorm would've cracked Terra’s defences with ease, it just turned out that he ended up with some of the more idiotic and deranged Primarchs on his side.

For all the flaws of the Ferrus Lore; he is still one of my favorite loyalist primarchs, its tragic what his legion became, even for his sense of rage and impatient behavior he still had enough sense to tell his legion not to become souless machines. Ferrus is a warrior and craftsman plain and simple; he doesnt need to be anymore complex than his brothers, he still needs lore no doubt, but he needs more than just an essay summaries worth of his time in the heresy to say the least.

@jesusojeda785015 күн бұрын
Funny how Horus recognizes the merits of other primarchs yet still fails to recognize and value Perturabo even while the Iron Warriors where pretty much carrying the heresy. It's Perturabo's gimmick, I guess.
@anandkrishna512415 күн бұрын
Wdym? Man knew perturabo in and out and was one of the people who knew his strengths and weakness. That's how he exploited him to join him. It was Mad Horus(Ascended) who threw off Perty in favour of Mortarian as his plagues were beyond mortal realm and rotted the walls
@jesusojeda785014 күн бұрын
@@anandkrishna5124 He understands how Perturabo works, but again, he doesn't recognize him or his legion as a whole during the heresy. At the siege of Terra, Perturabo leave as the walls of the imperial palace crumbled because he was so done with Horus and the chaos antics of their merry band of misfits.

@@jesusojeda7850 yeah, he did recognise him and his legion to some extent but bro wanted Dorn, Ferrus and Sanguinius over Perty, Fulgrim and Angron. This dissatisfaction is very evident when he's alone and thinking to himself.

@Throgman3312 күн бұрын
I see why now so many liked Horus. He didn't have a quirk to him like most primarchs, he was simply the greatest warrior and man to exist within an age, possibly ever, since the Emperor seems to be shirking his manhood by the century. He's refreshingly un-unique and envisages traditional traits that every man can respect.

So like I know what he's saying but wouldn't it be interesting if he was only saying that out of some sick sense of mourning ? He believes himself surrounded by self centered idiots, Ferus, this brother whom he would have rather had on his side, is the first constant reminder of the path he's been set upon. Horus has taken up to talking to the thing by the end of the end of the Heresy; perhaps in the absence of anything that makes sense to him he's taken up a sick sense of respect for his first dead brother, believing Ferrus to be everything he needed and more.
