Heads up there's a TV special for film gold called heart of gold being a tie-in to One Piece Film: Gold. Also there is a film gold episode 0 like strong world(making this like a mini arc as sorts 😂).... there is also silver mine filler arc connecting to the movie 😅

Yeah this movie came out in 2012 (when the Strawhats were leaving FMI/going to Punk Hazard in the anime), and the extent of Kuzan's injuries in the manga wouldn't be remarked upon until 2023 (during the Egghead arc). It's why even if the timelines don't make perfect sense, the OP films that have some Oda involvement (Strong World, Z, Gold, and Red) feel like things you Should Watch, instead of just an Extra Fun Thing. Anyway, about Z in particular, although Movie 6 Baron is in my estimation the best of the lot, Movie 12 is the best "One Piece" movie. You get it right? 6 is great because of how unlike everything else it is, while 12 is "yep, that sure is a lot of things I as a One Piece fan already like"

Strong World into Film Z is quite the 1-2 punch. Baron Omatsuri may be my favorite, but these two are much more quintessentially One Piece.

Definitely one of my favorite One Piece films. Though I like all the post time skip films excluding Stampede and even that one was extremely fun to watch in a packed theater.

Zed was a marine a long time ago so the warlord that he has beef with might not be the pre-time skip warlords. Remember, most of the warlords are only 30+. It was said that '23 years after his families death, the pirate that killed his family became a warlord' I doubt 10+ yr old croc/doffy/moria were that powerful already. 😂
