good advice on letting your gears see the light. On the cleaning the glass though, I think it better to use clothe, or any other direct rubbing material, only when you have smudges on your lens. Too much rubbing wear out lens coating and increases chance of scratching the glass.

Such a great point Garlo, didn't even cross my mind! I'm lucky I don't do it that often then 😅

Very good tips! I would have liked to know at the beginning of meienr film photography journey. So many lenses that I have constantly made dirty with a cloth... I have another tip. instead of using a hankerchief I bought silver cleaning cloths. lint free, dirt cheap and better than microfiber. :D You also have to be careful with alcohol solutions with the fake leather grips. I have a kompeltt dissolved and the now just sticks.

Thank you so much Dan, your advice is working so far I think! Ah no! The fake leather is no good man, I've seen it on other cameras and it even disintegrates and gets everywhere. Yeah, I think only alcohol for the lenses. Where can I find this silver cleaning cloth?

This was incredibly informative! I definitely could clean my cameras and lenses more often. I need to get one of those lens pens or something like it to get the dust out from behind shutter speed dials and tight spots like that. Also, now we need a video one how to give your camera a clean up, lube up, & ass slap😂

I always recommend a good ass slap every now and then to get my Mamiya into the action. It's the only way to make bangers man!

With my long eyelashes I always make my viewfinder dirty. I have used ear sticks with water but that never really got clean. I will try it next time with lens cleaner.
@thefilmdaddy
@thefilmdaddy Жыл бұрын
The viewfinder is the toughest to clean no doubt! Lens cleaner should sort you out no problem.

What clean cameras you have. In all seriousness though, great topic. I actually have a little cleaning kit with the brushes etc but I could do with picking up some of the cleaning fluid so cheers for the recommendation. I feel like the TLR ground glass will be a bit of a problem :/ lol

@@thefilmdaddy Oh really well that's good to know. Have to take some screws out and a clip or two on the Yashica to get to the ground glass which I'd be lying if I said I was looking foward to haha It's a simple process but a little afraid of breaking something. Let's hope it doesn't come to that lol

Mystical traveler, what message do you mean to give? Have ye not fears and the words to break them? Speak openly, for words were made to be breathed as the air. Free notes, belonging to everyone wherever they so please. Hark! I fear the day when our words must be silenced. For it is a grimness I cannot but think of here.
