What's your country? In Guatemala (and most Latin countries AFAIK) we have 2 names (sometimes 1 or 3) and 2 surnames (sometimes just 1 or both from the mother do the math)

I've watched this series from top to bottom, all 10 seasons on DVD. I'll never NOT believe that was a fake laugher who was prompted to let out that awkwardly loud and lone cackle at the "Muriel" reveal to try and make it a "moment." Dear God. "Ms. Chanandler Bong" was funnier than that.

The actual answer is, in times past, the father would name the first name and the mother would name the middle name. In my case, my father's name was Joe, so he named me Joe. It was his name, it was his father's name, and it was his grandfather's name. My mother decided to name me after one of her two favorite uncles. But one had been killed in WW2, so she named me in honor of the one still living so that he could appreciate the honor.
