That's actually an added value video! For those who can't change date format: Once cliccked "CTRL+1", BEFORE clicking on "Custom", u need to select "Date" and then "Location" for choosing the English format. Then, u can follow his procedure

It's a completely awesome project. Thanks. I enhanced my skills, especially in terms of styling. I used TEXT function to process "0" values of email addresses instead of IF. Also, I added a slicer with coffee types to have the possibility to analyze total sales more precisely.

Hey Mo, came across your channel for the first time through this video. Thank you for the wonderful guide, I am looking to make an excel-portfolio and this has been a great starting point. A small feedback, if that's okay: the circular spotlight you were using to probably draw our attention to somewhere on the screen was a little jarring. Maybe it is only me, but the way it made the screen change was difficult on the eye. Perhaps there's a different way to achieve this effect :) Thank you, once again for the awesome video! cheers

Hello, Mo! 21:50 - I applied date formatting to a single cell (B2) instead of selecting the entire column, then used the AutoFill function and found out an error in the value. The number of months was changed and the months Jan-Aug were removed from the list. Why did this error occur? Thank you so much for this fascinating tutorial!!!

You are so inspiring and disciplined. I wish I had all your discipline and the opportunities you had. Sometimes we just get discouraged. We don't even know where and how to start due to so many things to cover since I was very young, I always admired people with continued goals, discipline and hard work. Are you Vietnamese or Chinese. I'm glad that you can see that it's mostly hard work that got me to where I am. Talent is of course needed, but without putting in the work, talent alone is usually not enough. A quote I really like is "I'm going to do today what others aren't willing to, so that I can do tomorrow what others can't". My parents are Chinese, I'm a Hungarian-British dual citizen 😁

Hi Mo, thanks so much for your video. I've been using the latest version of Microsoft 365 Excel on my Mac, and I noticed that it's a bit different from your example. Unfortunately, I can't seem to customize the timeline or slicer like you showed.

Using Microsoft products on Mac can be a bit limited sometimes, it's just the way it is unfortunately. I'm afraid I have no solution to this 😅

I am in the process of building my portfolio, and I'm wondering if it would be beneficial to include some Excel projects as well. As I contemplate this, the tools that come to mind are Python, SQL, and Power BI. Question, when do you use excel, python, or tableau? Seeing as you can do some data cleaning, EDA, and visualization in all of them (although, not ideal to do in tableau, I hear).

It really depends on the specific situation. I’m a big believer in fit for solutions. As long as it’s effective, efficient and serves the need for yourself and your stakeholders, it’s the right tool to use. For data cleaning, excel and Python are definitely better than tableau as you can track the changes better.

I'm little confused there, my version of Excel wants ; instead of , also in the very first strep with xlookup in the email, I get an value error, even I do exactly as instructed in the video. I noticed I keep getting errors when I type the formulas manually, I have to use the FX option to make it work. any ideas why it's acting like this ?
