Don't be too quick to believe the weather man. We caught a few days of warmer weather with a great tide range, but they were a no fly zone because of the storms we have had lately....but woke up early and saw the storms were going to hold off for a bit so I just had to go try my favorite technique for Speckled Trout...the jerkbait. We don't have all year to do this, so you have to strike while the iron was hot. The south wind turned to a north wind on a dime and a massive storm came out of nowhere and ended my trip early. Just as the storm approached, caught a massive Redfish. In case you were wondering if 15lb line was enough for big Trout... Got soaked on the way back to the marina, but at least I got to dance with the Trout for an hour or so. If you are curious about what kind of lures I use for this technique, check out a recent pool test I did of a few.
