Even though the show has some flaws, Static Shock still remains as one of my favorite shows. Heck, my character style takes some inspiration from the show's art direction.

So you say his name isn't static shock, well as a great man once said "I ignore your reality and substitute my own"

I like to imagine that Static Shock is just an alternate-universe version of Everybody Hates Chris where Static is Chris and Hot Streak is the racist ginger

I know we had Black Lightning before hand and John Stewart (Green Lantern) but Static was the first one most of us saw for real. The show also tackles so many heavy issues that shows now days are too scared to touch.

Blood Syndicate issue #2 had THEE greatest cover I have ever seen , Man did I loved that series, I was lucky as a child, that my local comic book store would slip in Milestone comics into grab bags I bought. Got hooked instantly on the Syndicate and soon was buying Icon pretty regularly as well. I'd have to do some extra chores for the trading cards to go along with the book buying lol. Man those were good times. I don't know how much of a success D.C would say Milestone was. but it was really something special to me.

Yeah, Static Shock, I was there when it first aired, plus the same time Static appeared on Kids WB, was the same time X-Men Evolution debuted at that same time & channel. Also, speaking which of Static on Disney XD, keep in mind, before it was the current one, it was Toon Disney and their jetix lineup included Batman: tas and Superman:tas. As of Static, in the past few years, I started to collect the original comics, plus a vintage first issue of Milestone's Icon, I even crafted 2 different static Shock cosplays, I still have them too.

Static has one of my favorite superhero origin stories. You get such a good sense of who Virgil is before he gets his powers. It shows he's smart and has a desire to be a good person, but he's not always in situations where being "the good kid" is easy. He can be tempted, but ultimately makes responsible choices. I love heroes like that. Not perfect paragons, but still ultimately wants to and chooses to do the right thing.

I loved this show when i was a kid livin in georgia and i picked up the comic alongside batman back in the 90s and yea he was quippy but a lot of the shows messages about gangs and shit hit home with me

I found Ebon to be an intriguing villain. He was the man of his house at a young age taking care of his little brother, and was a thug who was a nobody until he won the lottery in the Big Bang and got impressive powers (which is why he was so hellbent on keeping his powers when they were starting to leave)

I finally looked up mile stone comics and got the full details I didn’t know static was a part of it. The comic book came out in June 1993 what’s makes static my brother from another mother✊🏽✊🏿.

Maybe the gas was like pepper spray cause in the comics it was supposed to be a deterrent and tracker in one so maybe it left radioactive dust all over his clothes. pepper oils cling to all sorts of stuff I remember one time I was eating wings with sauce from this one specialty store that shit was weapons grade! The spice stuck to my skin and clothes for almost a week and I had to handle stuff with gloves. if that stuff was mutagenic there'd be a lot of super powered people all over the place

I think a big part of the reason so many black celebrities kept popping up in these shows is because of them not having as many black cartoons growing up, and wanting to be a part of these newer ones that their kids grew up watching (especially with some of them being as damn good as they are!)
