This is the ONLY Way to get Shiny Charizard in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. The way you can catch a Regular Charizard is at the 7 Star Charizard Tera Raid Event in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. The event is SHINY LOCKED. However there is a way to get a Shiny Charizard. I will explain How to get Shiny Charizard in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. You can Breed Charizard with Ditto to get Shiny charmander. You can then evolve the Shiny charmander into Shiny Charizard in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. You have chances of getting shiny charmander by having a shiny charm in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. You have greater chances to get a Shiny Charmander by having shiny charm and Masuda method.

the only reason I like it being shiny locked is because you can only get one. What if you run into one randomly when you already caught yours? that would really suck.

I was shiny hunting the Charmander with Masuda method and shiny charm, I got over 200 eggs in, so many hours then my game crashed, in which I found I out that I had autosaves off, and found out that my last save was back when I had 24 eggs, with 0 hatched, needless to say Ice Cream was my best friend that night

The fact you can change your natures and IVs now make just hunting regular shinies more viable than trying to breed them, but I’m a sucker for the breeding system as a whole and will continue to do it anyway.

Breeding for shinies with good stats is still worth it. I'm sure somebody on the other side of Surprise Trades would love to get a 3-5 IV Pokémon, especially if it's a male belonging to the egg group of something they want to breed for and haven't gotten a 5 IV Ditto from raids yet.

@@masterwizardwither7444 I don’t think there’s any advantage to breeding in this game. I love breeding, but they’ve stripped it of all its value. Good IV Pokémon? Do raids. Need bottle caps? Do raids. Looking for shinies? Mass outbreaks, sandwiches, shiny charm. Breeding is useful for egg moves and Pokémon that are only obtainable once, like starters. Otherwise, this game has done a great job of leaving it as an option while giving plenty of ways to approach good Pokémon building

@@BeepersMister I trade away pretty much everything I breed while Shiny hunting through Surprise Trade. Somebody out there will appreciate getting one of them, perhaps a new player who likes it enough for their own use, or a veteran who thinks it's good for their own breeding or team building purposes, or maybe somebody who just can't find it in their own game. If even just one of the Pokémon I trade off helps somebody, I find that worth it enough to continue. Also, I have all the Scarlet exclusives in a Violet save, so I'm going to be breeding those like mad around the holidays because of Violet's overwhelming popularity over Scarlet.

Hey there quick question, if I have 2 boxes of eggs and then turn off auto save and then manually save my game, then hatch all the eggs to see what ivs and if any shines hatched and if I'm not happy I close the game and reload back from before I hatched any eggs will the eggs that I hatch now be the same ivs or will they be new and random again aswell as the shiny odds

Great video, however I read somewhere that if you apply bonuses while breeding such as trying to pass down natures via everstone or IVs with destiny knot, it will actually give you less shiny rerolls since it has something to do with how the personality values are applied when making the egg. For this reason, while I was doing the masuda method, I didn't try using an everstone or destiny knot since I was scared of lowering my chances, however I would like to know if I could've done it that way without losing shiny rerolls

Oh wow, I got 2 shiny Sprigatito pretty quickly when I was breeding early into the game, before I had the IV Judge so I didn't bother with the Destiny Knot. Now that I'm using items, I'm hatching hundreds upon hundreds of eggs with no luck. I assumed it was just bad luck, you know, as it goes sometimes but now I'd love to know if this is true! What I do know is that the breeding system checks for- and prioritizes Everstones. If you have multiple females and no one or everyone is holding an Everstone, it'll breed with all of them randomly and you get mixed eggs (assuming they're all in the same egg group) but if only certain Pokémon are holding an Everstone, it will NEVER breed with the one(s) NOT holding one. Super weird and annoying and I wonder if that's intentional.

from what I've read on bulbapedia, the nature and IV data are stored separately from the personality value, so it shouldn't affect the shiny chances with or without destiny knot or everstone. and I'm sure if it does have an effect there would be tons of people talking about it and making videos regarding the topic haha

@@PlushiePoogle yeah though people have been datamining the games for ages now, I'm sure if anything changed they'd be the first to know. just letting you know based on existing info of the coding of the games on bulbapedia. if you do want some anecdotal evidence, I managed to hatch 2 shiny sprigatito in the same batch of eggs yesterday, and the parents had destiny knot and everstone.

Maybe because 99% of players probably only breed one Pokémon at a time so they don't run into that problem like I did and YTers either don't know about it or don't find it worth mentioning BECAUSE it doesn't affect many players. I got a support strats for group raids sandy shocks with max special defense -attack nature + special defense with light screen screech metal sounds and mirror coat. This strat got a terrible team through charazard a very slow match to say the least. Anyways this can support iron hands and azumerill very well. Start with a light screen then screen it down 3 times the only problem is no helping hand but even without that it’s still one shot.

Just to know, is it possible to hatch 5 eggs with a brutal manual save then if they are not shiny, restart the game and do it again ? Or it HAVE to be everytime different eggs ? Like the odds of being shiny are determined when they egg is picked up at the basket or when the egg hacth ? Thanks again, nice vid !

Every time the eggs are produced they are generated! Save before you use the buff to make eggs!!

I've been using the Masuda Method (without Shiny Charm) for about 3 days straight now with a Foreign Ditto and the Charizard I caught, I've yet to get my shiny and I'm well over 1000 eggs. Trust me I even double checked all of them up until now.

While getting shiny charizard from raids may be impossible, this charizard can still have standard marks. My brother’s mighty mark charizard also has the lunchtime mark

Is the shiny determined when the egg is "created" or when it hatches? I understand you can't just have few eggs and hatch/softreset if not shiny?

When the egg is created is when the shininess is determined unfortunately

This is actually a good thing. This makes an egg that would be shiny the same no matter who hatches it. Before gen 8 there was a hidden star called your TSV(trainer shiny value) that was unique to you and for an egg to be shiny, you would need to hatch an egg that shares that number.

It'll be a fire tera type when you hatch Charmander, but you can still change it to a dragon type if you wanted it to match the raid Charizard.

Doesn’t matter if it’s from the US. As long as the boxes that say the languages are different, you’re good to go. “ENG, SPA, JPN, CHS” for example. No box means it’s your game, which it sounds like is English.

@@Fall3nxB3astx91 gotcha!! Doesn’t have to be only a ditto btw. Grab a female charmander (by breeding) and then maybe you wonder traded and got a dragon of a different language lol. It’ll get old but that black charizard is super worth it. He was my first hunt back in Pokémon Y. Good luck!

I've heard multiple people say "you can just make a new profile and play the game in a different language and trade with yourself if you want to Masuda" but don't you need an entire second Switch system for that? Not to make a profile and play the game but the trading with yourself part.

I'm not sure if anyone else can confirm but I did see a comment on another video that said you don't have to open up the eggs to see if one is shiny. Your shiny encounter number in your profile will go up if you have a shiny in your batch of eggs.

I got my shiny charmander and the shiny encounter didnt count. Sad to say u cant base at that. I already check my encounter shiny before i start and when i got my shiny charmander the shiny encounter didnt count at all i dont why, cause it dont have a pokedex entry? Im not pretty sure, so goodluck at hunting for shiny charmander.

No you need to open them, you won't know until it hatches, especially since Charmander and that don't have a Pokedex entry
