Absolutely different class Bernie 👊🏻👊🏻I’ll tell you a wee story,I caddied for a guy called Bill hector from Seaton Carew at the Western Gailes in 1982 in qualifying for the Troon open,I was 14 at the time,he told me he would take me to Troon if he qualified,missed it by 1 shot,I was absolutely gutted,he put it in the burn at 16 with his 2nd shot,he was absolutely robbed as it hit the top of the mound and trickled back down into the burn,6 inches further and he is in tight,so near yet so far 😮

What a great video - really interesting insight into high level golf - really highlights how good the top pros are, when Paul, for most of the 36 holes played really well, Justin Rose pops in a -8, incredible - keep up the great work.

Hi Lester, I wondered if I was listening to Peter Alliss commentating at first. Good Job! Paul played very well and had some great moments, that eagle especially was wonderful, aided by your help and advise on the bag, The course and conditions were very tough, maybe next year. I can see another video series coming next year...."Pauls quest (or Dan's? or Lester's??) for The Open"

Great video and excellent commentary. The prose in the commentary was so good it reminded me of the famous Poet Laureate., John Betjamin's poem "Seaside Golf" which is all about golf at St Enodoc.and well worth a read.You shoukd be rightly proud of the video. Was hoping to pop into Churston on my travels this week but the weather was not at its best so will pop in and hopefully say hello on my next visit.

Very well put together Lester 👏 Watched the whole thing on Dan’s Channel earlier. Paul had a very nice first round, especially after the double. Putter was good as well. Second round just got out of position a little too much, putts didn’t fall, then the understanding that it’s not to be sunk in. Sure it’s a great experience and we all hope it’s not the last as well. It was a cross wind too and Paul plays a right to left flight, with the pins all on the right on the back 9 he found it hard to get near them.

Well done Lester. It’s a shame the 2nd round didn’t go Paul’s way. Having followed yours and Dan’s since their inceptions, I was really hoping Paul could do it for him and the rest of us. It would have been amazing to route for Paul in the Open, but nothing to feel down about. He was closer than most of us could ever hope to get.
